It happened again... see old post here : https://stackideas.com/forums/es-2-0-6-update-stuck-at-15 .
Updating from 2.0.6 to 2.0.7 stuck at 15%.

Can you please solve definitely this issue please.
*I do not want to manually mod any foldername to have the updating procedure finalized.

Thank you.

Hello Joe,

This is what I believe happened before the upgrade:

1. You logged in as the root / ftp user
2. Modified some files within /administrator/components/com_easysocial
3. The ownership of the file get's changed to root
4. When you try to upgrade (apache / webserver user) tries to overwrite those files in /administrator/components/com_easysocial
5. It hit errors because of the ownership issues.

This is what I did to resolve this:

1. Logged into the SFTP as root
2. Renamed the folders as you can see here, http://take.ms/fJAfL
3. Installed EasySocial.
4. Installation completed just fine.

Hi Joe,

As you concern about this issue got to be happen later when you try to update. I've troubleshoot this issue and find out as I tried to update EasySocial 2.0.7 seems like I'm hitting this error:
An error has occurred.

-1 Copy file failed

Where this probably caused when your site's file/folder permission aren't correct.
The problem was indeed an file owner/group problem. Can you consult with your Webhosting provider to help you check the file permissions and chown for all files and folders to the correct owners on your server? All files need to be writable by the webserver user.

You can refer the same issue has been discussed here: https://stackideas.com/forums/update-to-easysocial-2-0-7-problem#reply-304585

Hi Fadhli,
I did the "one click on line update procedure" during the last months with no problem and I'm the root/owner of the server.
Please read my linked post where Mark solved this issue last time. But it was a workaround.
FYI - This probem starts when I upgraded form 2.0.5 to 2.0.6 and now -> from 2.0.6 to 2.0.7.

All the administrator dir and file permission are set correctly; you can log in as root and check by yourself and chown chgrp what ES needs.

You can refer the same issue has been discussed here: https://stackideas.com/forums/update-to-easysocial-2-0-7-problem#reply-304585

FYI - It's a dead link. Error 404

After this "stuck update" I have the stream not perfectly working anymore on my site.
Please solve it!
Thank you.

Thank you to all for the support.
I will investigate on this isue (from my side) but I didn't directly modify any files under the administrator/components/com_easysocial .
I did some customizations but i used the override tecnique as implemented by last ES versions. I modified the files directly from the Template CP of ES which have generated the requested overrides files.

Useless to say that I do not want to use this workaround anytime a new ES version will be released.

Hello Joe,

Perhaps you may have saved something while logged in as root, but you should take note of this though
