I updated my template from 3.0.8 to 3.0.11 and encountered some problems where the Main Menu and the EasySocial menu both disappears. Also, the banner image disappeared.

I am wondering if you are willing to do an update of this template and see if you can find the problem?
Hi there,

I've successfully updated your Charm template and now it is running on v3.0.11. Just letting you know, that we're no longer using the EasySocial toolbar and replacing it with our own StackIdeas toolbar for this template. This new module (Stackideas toolbar) can be found in your Module Manager section for you to configure it further.

The Charm template backend settings also have been updated to the latest HelixUltimate framework. It might look different from before. Perhaps, you can get yourself familiar with the new look and hope it is working best for you.

Since you've applied some CSS customization on the EasySocial toolbar, I've also helped you re-apply it on the new Stackideas toolbar. Following are the CSS codes for your reference which you can find it at Custom CSS section of the template.

#fd.mod-si-toolbar .fd-toolbar__link {
color: #dcc82f !important;
}
body #fd.mod-si-toolbar {
padding: 16px;
}

Kindly go through the site and let us know if there is any missing/issue that arises because of the template update. I've checked it and so far everything works excellently.

Thanks.

Hi there,

I'm sorry, I cannot see this issue on your site. Have you fixed this issue on your site or you're reporting the issue happened after the update? Or did I misunderstand your inquiry?

Thanks.

Thanks Yasser for the reply. I am very sorry. I left out one important detail. I had backed up my site before doing the update and when the template update had problems and I did not know why, I rolled the site back. So, right now the site is using an older version of the template. I would still love to get help on this. I will have to do another backup before doing this. Or, you could kick one off from the CloudAccess.net control panel, which is different from the standard CPanel. It is available in the Application submenu.

Hi there,

I'm sorry for the delayed reply.

After intensive checking on the template, seems like we're able to replicate this issue locally. Basically. this issue arose as it contains a major update of the HelixUltmate Framework. It is an update of HelixUltimate from version v1.1.2 to v2.0.6 which contains a lot of changes & updates to the settings.

It is not a critical issue, however, you'll need to reconfigure back the setting on the template section. We understand the hassle and we're sorry for that. If you wish our help to assist you to update the template, please let us know. We're more than happy to help you.

Anyway, I've logged this issue to our developer to take a look at where can we help with the template update so that everything runs smoothly.

Thanks.

Yes, I would totally like your help to update this template. Should I make myself available to you at the same time that somebody is able to help with this?

Eventually I would like to update the web site to use Joomla 4 but we may want to not make that big a change all at once. Getting the template upgraded would certainly be the next logical step.

I am so glad that you found this as I was sort of pulling my hair out trying to figure it out.

Hi there,

Sure, I can help you update the template. But first, may I know did you do any customization to the site? If you do, kindly run a backup first so we can have a restore point if anything not going according to plan.

Should I make myself available to you at the same time that somebody is able to help with this?

Sure, if you have the time, it would be appreciated.

Once you've run the backup, I'll help you update the template.

I was sort of pulling my hair out trying to figure it out.

Please don't. You'll be bald.

Thanks.

Thanks for asking about customizations. The only modifications are within the Custom CSS built into the Custom Code area of the template.

I have been doing backups each evening so that you can update the template any time. I think I will do a back up right now as well but then again this evening.

I noticed that you have updated the template and the framework. Thank you very much. There are a lot of little changes I probably still need to make. I am really tired now and am going to sleep. But, in the morning I will take a better look at the colors, etc...

Thanks for letting me know about swapping out the EasySocial Toolbar for the StackIdeas toolbar. I will try to figure that out in the morning as well.

I do hope this gets me one step closer to being able to upgrade the site to Joomla 4.

Thanks!!!

One thing that is missing now is the search bar that should be on the right side of the StackIdeas toolbar in the sibmenu. It was located just to the left of the signin to your account icon. We use smart search.

Thanks, Sean

Hi there,

I've helped you enable the search option. You can configure it from the Stackideas toolbar as shown in the attached screenshot.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Thank you. That picture is worth a thousand words. And... I am impressed with the EasySocial Toolbar. I wish I had used that years ago. :-)

Hi, Sorry. One more question. My Joomla Extensions update is suggesting that I update the following:

StackIdeas Toobar package from 1.0.9 to 1.0.12 (Actually this just happened automatically when I updated EasyBlog to 6.0.5)

System - Helix Ultimate Framework from 2.0.6 to 2.0.9

Is that advisable now that I update the Framework? Or will it possibly break the Charm template?

Thanks, Sean

Hi there,

I believe it would be fine since it is not a major upgrade. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Thanks.
