Hi,

Just download EasySocial and install it as how you would install a fresh component.

Your settings will stay intact but if you have any custom hack on the core codes or template, those will be overridden. You will have to keep track and backup your custom hack prior to upgrade.

I have to say I also find it odd that there is an "update" feature built in yet every update I have done so far has got to 10% and failed and then told me to go and download the update file and install in the standard way. Not much point having the update feature, better just to say right from the start go download the new file and install it!

Some host have more issues then others. It's on a "who am i doing business with".
The update is still useful but maybe SI's crew shall also add a message with a link to the download the whole file.

@Vlad, you can download the packages at stackideas.com/dashboard.

@Andrew, @Alexandre, noted and we will see what we can do about it in the future. The reason why some times a new package is required because there is an update with the "Update Module" itself.

Isn't that what the concept of "bootstrap" is all about?

Hello Andrew,

The reason that we stripped down the installer is simply because users were hitting the 2mb upload limit marker and we do not want to put ourselves into a position where we have the same tickets being repeated all the time. Hence, the "launcher" was made much smaller, in fact it's lesser than 1mb to avoid issues uploading.

However, there are times that the launcher needs to be updated and this is why you are hitting this error.
