Hi Guys,

With 1.2 out, should the roadmap be updated to reflect that?

Also regarding the roadmap, the dates are a bit off (we are nearing April and 1.3 is still slated for March).

Is it possible to sync the versioning numbers between the roadmap and Voices? I find it hard to keep track of what is coming when, as the versions listed in voices are not in sync with the published roadmap.

Chaim
Hi Chaim,

Thank you for your insight. I'll inform Mark pertaining to this matter and I'm sure he'll update the roadmaps so that our users are able to plan on their development.

Let me know if there's anything more that I can help you with.

Mark,

I know that the whole team is super busy with EB5 and ES1.4 (along with all the other developments), would it be possible to update the roadmap to reflect what has been done/where things are holding?

Hey guys,

We are really extremely occupied with the development of EasyBlog 5 and I have been repeating this many times already Why is it such a crucial release for us? It's simply because the release of EasyBlog 5 is long overdue and there are a lot of complications in the composer which we have built. It requires a lot of man hours to work on the composer because of the super rich interactivity.

I honestly wish I could start working on EasySocial 1.4 but if I am going to do that, EasyBlog 5 is going to be delayed again. However, our designers have already completed a couple of revamps on the themes and we have refactored the codes quite a bit.

Apart from these, they have already completed all the necessary layouts for all the new features including the videos What we are left now is only the back end part where the developers would need to fill in the blanks. Again, this can only happen when EasyBlog 5 is out.

Since you guys are always on my tail about the performance issues, we have learned a lot while we are developing EasyBlog 5 and we are going to bring these knowledge back to EasySocial 1.4 which wouldn't take too long and going to be awesome in the long run. Some of these includes:

1. Proper separation of javascript libraries (Different pages / modules will load smaller javascript files rather than a whole huge js file)
2. Proper separation of css files (Different pages / modules will load it's own smaller css files rather than a whole huge css file)
3. Performance enhancements (We have speed up PHP processing close to 500% for EasyBlog 5)
4. We try to be less ambitious (This has nothing to do with coding at all but just a mentality issue. We always try to be too perfect that we neglect time and this is not something that would work with you guys it seems)

As someone who does this too, I totally understand. With the EasySocial series I was actually quite pleased with this method being used (a lot of great additions were made in minor releases between ES 1.2 and 1.3). However with EasyBlog there was probably too many additions made in a single release (EB5). I'm sure it will be really awesome and worth while to many folks. Perhaps in the future so others aren't worried you could give a heads up in the roadmap, this way folks don't expect the same release rate as we had been seeing in ES 1.2 and ES 1.3. I personally had and still have confidence in you guys the whole time.

Don't forget that I (and others too) am still very happy with what we have with ES 1.3.17 and the incredible work you guys do. I stand by my statement that you guys have made the best Joomla extension ever made!
