Hello, i downloaded the easy discuss update, but when its uploaded it tries to do its thing....but after about 45 seconds it shows internal server error..
Ive checked everything, all rights are ok. update of easysocial works fine....
No limits of execution.,..
Very weird..
Anything i can check?

Sorry for late reply to this,
Can you consult with your webhosting provider regarding this and check the error log as well? Because when you hitting that 500 internal server error, which means that the php error already overridden to 500 error.
Also, can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this? Please advise.

I think the update activates some limitations....

Thats the error i have....it needs more then 45 seconds....
Wht you use a different installer then easysocial i dont know.....cause that goes perfect...
Cant i upload the files and execute a file for update?

I prefer not to create the access again...we know it drops dead because of limitations....more then 45 seconds is bit much...
So how can this be done manualy?

hello Babylon,

Did you try install from directory method before? If no, let follow our documentation -> http://stackideas.com/docs/easydiscuss/installation/installing-from-directory
extract the installer zip file in your temp folder then install from your backend > extension manager > click install from directory > type your file path > click install and see how it goes?

In EasySocial, we split the installation into multiple ajax requests. In EasyDiscuss, we do not have such an installer yet, hence everything is executed the minute you upload the installer. If you are unable to provide us with the access, we can't really check on this.

Well there is nothing to check mark....and asking for access isnt always possible. What i know is that it takes longer then 45 seconds to do its update. The uploading is a few seconds...and i use more big components and non of them fail on install or update time. But i will try from directory....

There is a reason why it is taking 45 seconds to copy files / run SQL queries and probably the upload takes a while too but I cannot realistically give you an exact reason for this because there are just too many possibilities as to why it's taking longer than 45 seconds. Very often it is due to the "file copying" but again, I am just speculating since we do not have access to your site
