I used the Joomla Update area to start the process by clicking on EasyBlog checkbox and then 'Update', but as soon as I did this a white screen appeared in the admin area and front end of the website.

It is not possible to access any part of the website, please fix asap (you have permission to perform the update again when ready).

I note a similar problem in other threads, so I assume it is not unique to my site.
Hey Richard,

Something is strange, because this happen only for some of the site, may i know your test site also hitting this same issue when you trying to upgrade to 5.1.x?

By the way, I already help you upgraded to Easyblog 5.1.4, can you give it a check is it work fine now?

Thank you for fixing the problem Arlex, much appreciated and everything is fine now.

Ref your question, I did not use a test site and waited for EB5.1.x to be stable before upgrading on the live site.

I didn't have any problems upgrading from EB5 to EB5.1.3 (apart from forgetting to update a couple of modified override files after backup - html/blog/entry/default.php and html/blog/structure/default.php), but once the modified files were changed to adjust the new default.php files, it worked perfectly.

I didn't change any files before moving from 5.1.3 to 5.1.4 to not sure what the problem may be, I use the Nickel theme for the blog.

Feel free to check any of the files if it helps to identify why the update to 5.1.4 is crashing on a number of sites.

Hello Richard,

We will be pushing out 5.1.5 soon, we'll perform the upgrade for you to test this out. Would it be okay for you?
