We have recently purchased EasyBlog, and are working out how to use it in our development environment, which is not the same domain name as our license. The development environment is listed below in the site URL field.

I cannot update through the Joomla update panel, or either of the "Update Now" buttons on the EasyBlog main panel.

I receive this error when attempting to update from the EasyBlog main panel.

Error updating component when using the API from Joomla. Please try again.

Last time it needed an update, I ended up downloading the install package and performing a full reinstall, fortunately that left the setup in place for the website team to continue their implementation efforts.

Is the development environment site name causing the problem with updates?

Joomla 3.9.2
EasyBlog 5.2.10
PHP 7.1.26
Hey Michele,

The updater service is restricted to the licensed domain and if you are using a different domain, you should set your dev domain on the license and when you are ready, let us know and we'll update the domain to the live site

It is our policy to test updates to software as well as site redesigns in the test environment, so does your reply mean that to be able to have it in development as well as production we will need to buy two licenses?

Hi there,

Yes if if wanted to update from Joomla and our own "update now" button. As those installer will always do request files from our server and checked on domain included based on your license. For you development and test site, you have to use Full installer that you can get from your dashboard.

By using full installer, it will extract all files from the installer itself and will not request them from our server. Please advice.
