Hi there,
again the localhost update does not work. I like a installer, that forces me to download a installer before updating every time

That saved me for updating too fast. The Update with the full package deleted the custom theme from Joomlart completely, the reinstall did not work yet. Any suggestion?
You should warn your customers, not to update there livesites.
Thanks, Dan
Hello Michael,

Hm, EasyBlog doesn't delete any overriden theme files. If you have placed it under /templates/JOOMLA_TEMPLATE/html/com_easyblog/ it will never get deleted.

If you are upgrading, EasyBlog will actually try to take a backup of /components/com_easyblog into /components/com_easyblog.backup

Hi there, as Joomlart instructs its members to install the easyblog-theme in this way:

1. Install EasyBlog component

EasyBlog component is commercial extension, you need to buy it and download from http://stackideas.com/, follow this link for more details about the extension.

Once you have installation package of the extension, install it via installation panel: Extensions » Manage.

2. Add JA Resume Custom Theme

In the JA Resume download page, down load the file: JA Resume Theme for EasyBlog, extract it and add to your site root folder, once done, open the folder: components\com_easyblog\themes and you will see 2 Easy custom themes: JA Resume and JA Resume Wall.

Next, go to your site admin panel » Components » EasyBlog » Themes and set JA Resume or JA Resume Wall as default Easyblog theme
.

the theme is in the root/components folder and no update the whole last year broke anything there. But the main problem is, that ist seems to be completely broken (I have a backup) - and as I saw there are more issues with latest blogs (weird and shows code), all images are shown on the landingpage, the bar is broken, some message is appearing but it is not possible to read, it only loads endless...

I will look into it but if you have any suggestion you are welcome.

Best regards, Dan

Hello Dan,

When upgrading to 5.1, EasyBlog creates a backup folder of /components/com_easyblog under /components/com_easyblog.backup so you should be able to find your existing installed themes on /components/com_easyblog.backup/themes

As for the custom theme, I believe they would probably need to make some minor adjustments to support EasyBlog 5.1. This is inevitable because we need to update the structure to optimize the blog and if we don't make this change, we will never be able to move forward

Having said that, I would be happy to look at the issues of this custom theme for you if you are able to provide us with the back end and FTP access on the site.

Hi, thank you. I work local, till problems are fixed.

As you see, it was common to give the JAT theme in the root/components folder and not to make an ovveride in the template. Can I do so in the future or will you override the themefolder again beside a huge step as the new easy-blog? I thought the easyblog themes are thougt to be a seperate part where you can install and handle any theme.

I updated now incl. the placeholder fix and use the wireframe theme. Beside my custom css is broken there are this issues:

- the images of each post appear on the landingpage (all one after the other). I tried no fix yet. Any suggestions?
- I send you a image of the menubar - is that expected in wireframe to look like this?
- in the backend I found without testing that a "admin-5.1.6.-basic.min.js" is preventing the theme buttons to be clickable.

Best regards, Dan

Hello Michael,

Most of the theme files are almost identical when it comes to 5.0 and 5.1. Most changes were being done on the JS section. As for your other questions, please find my response below:

- the images of each post appear on the landingpage (all one after the other). I tried no fix yet. Any suggestions?

Not sure what do you mean here. Can you please let me know where I can see this problem?

- I send you a image of the menubar - is that expected in wireframe to look like this?

Yes, this is the new toolbar.

- in the backend I found without testing that a "admin-5.1.6.-basic.min.js" is preventing the theme buttons to be clickable.

I am not really sure what do you mean here? Can you please let me know where I can see this problem?

Hi Mark,

every image and video in my blog posts ...

... is shown in "category view" one after the other - in full size before read more.

(Instead of 1 Image and read more.)

I insert images with path to folder in code. The update breaks this.

Best regards, Dan

Hey Michael,

May i know whether that is possible for you to temporary upload your local site to live so we can able to check on this and solve your current issue as soon as we can?

every image and video in my blog posts ...

... is shown in "category view" one after the other - in full size before read more.

(Instead of 1 Image and read more.)

Perhaps you can provide us some screenshot regarding with your current Truncation setting and the blog listing page?

Truncation setting is located from backend > Easyblog > settings > layout > you can refer on my attached 2 screenshot below.

I insert images with path to folder in code. The update breaks this.

I am a little bit lost here, do you mean you manually insert the image path into blog content then it break the layout from the listing page?

If yes, is it possible to send us with your current blog content and those image path so we will see if we can find out anything goes wrong?

Hi Mark,

thank you! My settings are similar to yours in Easyblog configuration.

As my theme was terminated, I use wireframe without any change.

This is the live site with Easy-Blog old series:

Before update:

Category view: https://www.steppenwolf.wien/blog

Hier you choose the first post "Rob Greenfield in Wien" https://www.steppenwolf.wien/blog/rob-greenfield-in-wien

All this looks how it should be.

After update:

screenshot-greenfield: This is the category view after update (Joomla/Easyblog newest)

The post itself looks fine and like expected (no screenshot)

Attachment:

• blog-post-greenfield.txt

To replicate the issue you can insert this code in any easyblog-post (plain code/editor off).
The image paths direct to a Joomla root/images/... directory

Conclusion:

You will have the same issue if it is not related to
• local environment
• Mac with MAMP
• T3 Framework

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Thanks for getting back to us, I already put your content into my locally, it seems display correctly, you can check my video here : http://take.ms/qRYww

Perhaps you can consider temporary upload your local environment site to live site so we can able to check on this directly.
