I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Do you mean when you click update from your backend Easysocial dashboard? If yes, can you regenerate a new API key from your http://stackideas.com/dashboard , then download the launcher installer zip then install from your backend extension manager and see how it goes?

If you regenerate the API key, you should copy that API key and paste in this installation step(check my screenshot below).
