I have a subscription for all four your products. I need to edit CSS files for my layout. I also have to edit some php files.

I do so always, also our customers require adjustments. When a website uses several components and extensions from different companies, it is necessary to change the look.

Q: How works the update for all components Stackideas? Automatically rewriting all files of component, including themes? Or is possible manual upgrade only updated files? In some extensions is possible for upgrade replace files with the new ones. There is a list of files that have changed.

I do not want after update making all adjustments css and php files again.
Hi Jan,

Q: How works the update for all components Stackideas? Automatically rewriting all files of component, including themes? Or is possible manual upgrade only updated files? In some extensions is possible for upgrade replace files with the new ones. There is a list of files that have changed.

Its is not possible to manual upgrade. Please bear in mind that during the upgrade process:

Core files will be overwritten

Core theme files will be overwritten.

Database tables might be updated (If there are new table columns added).

Before proceeding with the update, please ensure that:

You make a backup of the site's database (For just in case purposes).

You make a backup of the modified files.

You make a backup of your theme files.

Hi Muhammad Fadhli,

thank you for the quick reply. It is not very good

If not possible manually update, how do I do if I edited css files and some php files in the component?

Backup all > update > upload (overwrite new) my modified files from a backup?

Is there a list of files that have changed?

Hi Muhammad Fadhli,

sorry for the question but still do not get it

So how do I edit the layout components?

1) In updating are all my edits overwritten. I have therefore completely clean version without my modified css and php files.
2) Then I must upload (overwrite new) my modified files from a backup

But if I do not know which files have been changed, what if will be overwritten your modified files for the new update?

None of the users Stackideas does not modify the css and php files for a custom design?

Hi Jan,

There is some of the files will be changed, as we have update version, but not much (if it is a minor update) and you still can search the files directories. As you have customized php and css files, we still can assist where to put them back .
