Hi guys,
I just noticed that in forum "new reply" notifications there is no link at the bottom to unsubscribe from the topic.
Instead, the link is present in general forum notifications (when users subscribes to the whole forum).

Maybe I missed some setting in Easydiscuss config?

Thanks
Hi Niccolo,

I would like to investigate this in more detail since I am unable to replicate this locally.

Can you provide a specifc case on your site where the user's reply notification does not have the unsubscribe email?

Details include which post, notification item, and user.

If I look at the the email previews in t"Email activities", none of the "new post reply" emails have the unsubscribe link.

you may check the notification I received when I first spotted this issue

notification ID: 1601
post ID: 674 - https://accademiainfinita.it/forum/674-sulla-sincronicit%C3%A0
user ID: 902 (Niccolò Angeli)

Please if you have to do heavy debug or tests on the site, let me know and I'll give you access to a test site. This is a live site with many active users.

Thank you

Hey Niccolo,

I have tested this on my site and the reason the unsubscribe link does not show in that user's email is because the user is an admin receiving an admin email based on this setting in the notifications area(http://take.ms/NVHt0).

When this setting is enabled, the admins that receive the reply notifications will not have the unsubscribe link. It makes no sense to display the link because they will still receive those admin email notifications even if they unsubscribe.

I see,
I got confused because in
backend > easydiscuss > email activities

when I click on the previews there never is an unsubscribe link at the bottom of "reply to post" notifications, no matter to which user they are being sent

while there is an unsubscribe link at the bottom of email digests previews (notifications sent when the user subscribe to the whole forum)

anyway, if you say every notification is being sent out with an unsubscribe link,
I can now rest in peace

Thanks

Hey Niccolo,

Perhaps you can point out to me which non-admin user is receiving the reply notification without unsubscribe link so I can check it out?

Hey Niccolo,

The use id 908 does not have the unsubscribe link in the email notification because that user is the owner of the discussion.

If you look at the subscription table, the user is not subscribed to the post, which means there is nothing to unsubscribe to.

The owner is basically getting the emails because this notification setting is enabled(http://take.ms/kxlxG).

You are right,
all this testing confused me

anyway I tested some more with a different test user and the user who replies to the post (and it's not the post owner) still receivse a notification which has not an unsubscribe link

user ID: 907
post ID: 4 - https://accademiainfinita.it/forum/4-cosa-vuol-dire-quando-vedo-numeri-11-11
subscription ID: - 323 (see screenshot) - I do see in backend that the user is subscribed to the post

I also attach the notification mail html in txt

Thank you

Hey Niccolo,

There is actually a bug in the reply notification where the thread subscribers are not receiving the notifications and this has been reported previously. However, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with your issue.

Can you try editing the file(JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easydiscuss/includes/post/post.php) and change the code indicated in the screenshot under replyNotify function(http://take.ms/Z5GiG)?

Once you have modified the file, try testing the reply notification again. Remember to backup your original file as precaution.

If this does not work, can you provide us your duplicate site backend and ftp access so we can test this there?
