Hey Erzul

Sorry about the double post but I can not reply to the previous post HERE:

http://stackideas.com/forums/understanding-the-es-toolbar

I am getting a message that it is in the ED forum which it is not!

Yes I get that I can switch this menu on and off.
And yes I get where I can do this.

Yes I get : I can turn stuff on and off for the Search/Login etc on the EB
No I do not get: Where can I turn Search/Login etc on/off for the ES Social pages

Or in other words…
Where is the menu tool bar coming from on the ES pages?
The menu that I turned off
As you demonstrated in your last screen shot

thanks for your patience

Paul
It is difficult to clearly understand what you exactly want...not really sure:p
Try to switch the access level of the BUG toolbar to Guest and assign to the pages you need it.
If needed duplicate the module with ACL to Registered with the correct settings for logged in user and assign to desired pages

Hey Paul,

I already help you turn off the toolbar from the Easysocal theme settings.

Can you give it a check now?

Hey Arlex, Hey Erzul

Wow I get it. Slowly. I think.
If you will forgive me for saying it, this is typical twisted logic.

The tool bar can be switched on in two separate places.
In the module itself in my case it is called “BUG Toolbar” i.e. set to Yes/No
The switch in the “BUG Toolbar” module is for any pages that run Easy Social.
I can set this to display for registered/public etc

And in the ES Theme settings under the “Elegant” theme. i.e. set to Yes/No here as well!
This switch turns the tool bar on/off for ANY page that has an Stackideas Component running on it.
In my case this means ES & EB. If I had ED it would also effect ED.
This switch is either on or off and whether people are logged in or not has no effect.

I guess that the reason that I was seeing the Tool bar twice.
Was because both of the above mentioned switches were set to Yes.

“BUG Toolbar” was set to Yes.
AND
Theme settings under the “Elegant” theme was set to Yes.

OK so that is the theory,
Could you kindly tell me if I have understood this correctly?

The practice.
I now have every thing switched to yes.
And see nothing.

Have I gone mad or am I missing something?

thanks for your patience

It's actually really simple and doesn't need to be that complex at all. The reason that there is 2 toolbars showing up is because:

1. You have configured EasySocial to display the toolbar (component)

2. On top of #1, you also placed a toolbar module before the component.

To solve this, you have 2 choices:

1. Turn off the toolbar in the component which is what Arlex did

2. Disable the toolbar module.

Hi Mark

Let me try it this way.

How do I have:

a) A tool bar on all pages EB/ES for guests and people logged in?
b) A tool bar on all pages EB/ES for ONLY people logged in?

thanks for your patience

Hi Supporter

I am probably trying to do to many things at the same time.
I will follow your advice and take this one building block at a time.

Some times the simplest things are the hardest, like getting out of the house with two matching pares of socks.

In the mean time I will mark as this resolved.

thanks
