And it seems to do absolutely nothing.
I am guessing that it is because I have no Easy Discuss Component installed.
And that the purpose of this App is to pull posts from the full blown ES Component.

I am still struggling to get my head around the Easy Discuss Group Component!

Is it just allowing you to access the scaled down ED inside Easy Social from anywhere in ES where you have a side bar?

1) A dedicated Group/Forum for e.g. “Simons Cat”
2) Can I post a discussion in the group “Simons Cat” and select a Category XYZ
3) Have this discussion that I posted in the Group “Simons Cat” in Category XYZ turn up on an ED Forum page?

Yes, you can submit a new discussion on the Easysocial group and you can able to select which category you would like to post with.
But unfortunately that will not show that Easysocial group discussion on Easydiscuss forum page is because this discussion is belong to Easysocial group, it will only appear on the Easydiscuss group page, you can check my screenshot here : http://take.ms/IOwzA

Yes, that discuss app it required to install Easydiscuss component into your site.
Basically it just similar like existing Easysocial group discussion app functionality and allow group member to create discussion on the Easysocial group.
