Hi, I tried researching this, but came up with nothing. Can someone please explain what happens when a user deletes their account? On my test account, I deleted my account. Before I did that, I posted a test post to see what happens after my account is deleted. The post was still on the stream, which confused me. I then tried to log back in to see if the test account was deactivated, couldn't log in. Only when I deleted the test account, the post disappeared. After reading some topics here on the forum, this is what I came up:

User deletes account, posts, Groups & Pages, galleries, and audios created by the user remain on the site. The only way the user's information (Addressed earlier) can be removed is when the site admin deletes their account from the ACP?

Shouldn't the user's data be deleted when the user deletes their account? Need some clarification for my site's polices.

Thank you,
Steve
Hi Steve,

Based on the situation that you described, it appears that when the user deleted their own account, their account is disabled(cannot login anymore), not deleted.

Since the account is not deleted yet(there is still possibility to enable back the account), the items belonging to that account is not deleted too.
Shouldn't the user's data be deleted when the user deletes their account?
This can be achieved by changing the following setting.
Settings>Users>General>Account Deletion Behavior>Delete Account & Notify Admins

Hi Raymond,

Settings>Users>General>Account Deletion Behavior>Delete Account & Notify Admins

When I follow your location, I cannot go further than Users as it lists all the site's users. If I go to Settings, General, there is no setting as you're describing. The only setting that pertains to allowing users to delete their account is under Profile Types, which I have Account Deletion, which doesn't allow deletion of user's data when deleting profile.

Hey Steve,

May I know which version of EasySocial you are currently using? The setting location which I provided should be correct for the latest version.

I have attached a screenshot of the setting below for reference. If you are still unable to locate the setting, can you provide us your backend access so we can check?
