Hi guys,

I am unable to add a language string to any dropdown items (I am designing my site with multi-lingual ability for future growth), once I save the field in the backend with the language string in the title becomes blank, and the value setting is retained.

For example; I have a dropdown field called smoker, the options are (I am only showing the first 2 items from the list):

  • I-DO -> I-DO
  • I-DONT -> I-DONT

Am I doing something wrong?

Any advice is greatly appreciated,
Chaim
Hi,

Are you on the latest version of EasySocial (1.0.5)? Because this issue should have been patched in 1.0.5.

If you are indeed using EasySocial 1.0.5, then please provide us your site access and FTP access so that I can investigate this for you.

Jason,

I am running on the latest version, however it might be possible that not all the files were updated when I applied the update. Which of the following you recommend:

  1. Reapply the update via the backend installer.
  2. Apply the update via FTP.

Thank in advance,
Chaim

Hi,

You can try either way but if it does not work then do let me know.

Jason,

Sorry for taking so long to post back. I updated to the latest version (1.0.8 at the time of this writing), and while I am able to add values to both the fields (label/option and value), for some odd reason the system does display the options as the translated text, rather it displays the value; how can I have the value as a multi-lingual field?

Thanks in advance,
Chaim

Hello CK,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Hi CK,

The values are actually not intended to be "translate-able" as the value is only for system use. Think of it like a key for system to identify which option that user chooses. The translate-able text should be on the "title", in which is what the system uses to display the option.

Hi CK,

I've cross checked the fields and realized that the title is not translate-able currently. I've added this internally and will be rolled out in the next version.

Confirmed that v1.0.9 has addressed the issue. Thank you for the quick turn around.
