Hello Glenn,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Now i can reproduce your issues now, it seems like when you upload the file size more than 2MB then hit that error.
Can you contact with your webhosting provider to help you increase the max_execution_time to 120 and see if that help? Please advise.

Good Morning Arlex,

I tried uploading more pictures this morning. I reduced the quality of the image to bring it under 2MB and I am still getting the same error. I was able to upload 3 and 4 mb files without any problems.
see attached screen shot. also I have no problem uploading very large files using joomla.

thanks

My host provider won't change the max_execution_time without upgrading my service. Is there a log available that is showing the script is timing out? It just seems wired that it does not do it all the time. Even when I try to upload a 1.8MB photo I get the error. see attachment listed below.

the first attempt to upload the file size was 2.67MB no success!
the second attempt to upload after the image quality was reduced to 1.81MB. no success. Like I stated earlier. I have uploaded 3 and 4MB photos via easyblog with no issues.

Im lost at this point.

thanks

Hello Glenn Marshall,

Sorry for late reply to this,
I have tried to debugging in your site, it seems like your site memory_limit in php has reached it's limit,

<b>Fatal error</b>: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 24064 bytes) in <b>/home/extreme0/public_html/components/com_easyblog/classes/easysimpleimage.php</b> on line <b>52</b><br />

I think you have to request with your web hosting provider again to help you increase the memory_limit to 256MB and max_execution_time to 120 and see if that could help?

Hi! Glen,

I guess I found a solution by Changing resize images to "yes" in settings > Media > General > original Images >Resize original image = Yes

I was confused regarding the Max Width and Height but I went with 1120*1120, don't ask why, May be its my lucky pixel.

cheers,
Anirudh.

Hello Glenn Marshall,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.
I have tried to upload you attached the image file from my local site, the images uploaded successfully without error from my media manager,
see my screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/FKpuDm5A (uploading) || http://screencast.com/t/iPMiiKQdEu (uploaded complete) || http://screencast.com/t/5MF8BNsG5 (Thumbnail) || http://screencast.com/t/tsCcgoejs (Original)
and my local php information memory_limit -> 256MB ( http://screencast.com/t/8JgLTKQb2EQq ) & max_execution_time -> 120 ( http://screencast.com/t/JiibsFkZR )
So i'm suspected that is it when upload some of the images that moment reached the limit of your memory, if is it possible request with your webhosting provider to increase that memory_limit and max_execution_time to higher after you upgrade the service. After your webhosting provider help you increased, the images still can't upload, so you can prove it my suspected is incorrect.

Thanks for sharing, may i know if you enable "Resize original image" to YES, then your client file already uploaded successfully?
