My site is currently running on Joomla 1.5.25 (I know, I will get around to upgrading it soon!). I am using EasyBlog 3.8. I just tried to install EasyBlog 3.9 using Extension Manager. This failed with an error 500. Even worse, it left my entire website giving an error 500 whichever page I tried. The administrative backend was still working (apart from the Easyblog control panel) so I reinstalled EasyBlog 3.8. My website is now working again.

Looking in my error log it seems the problem is that media/foundry/3.1/joomla/framework.php does not exist. I can see it in the installation package but it does not appear to be being copied to the correct place. I note that there is no mention of the media folder in the package manifest but I don't know if this is the problem. I can also see that the package manifest in the 'files folder="site"' section has a line containing the text "pr" with no enclosing XML tags.

Since all I did was select the package and ask Joomla to install it, it seems unlikely that I have caused the problem so I am assuming the package is faulty in some way.
Hi Mark,

I will be going from 1.5.26 using Cyends transfer component to J3.2.1 will I be able to simply install the latest EasyBlog for J3.2 and have all the blogs come back to life in the new 3.2.1 install? The version being used on the old site is EB 3.0.7164. Cyends component as far as I know can handle component transfers too.

Thanks Mark

Hello Daryl,

Sorry for the late reply. As long as the tables are migrated correctly then yes if you install EasyBlog in the J3.2 site you will be able to restore your EasyBlog settings and posts Hope this helps.

Thanks!
