A copy of this which I never was able to fix.

https://stackideas.com/forums/site-backend-says-it-updates-but-old-version-still-shown

OK so I have my supported site running ok (this is an unsupported site) and that can check the version is up to date.
My issue is for an unsupported site but you will know the answer I think and I would appreciate to know..

1) Is there a manual way to see what version I have installed via files ? I checked the root and nothing tells me the version of files I am running.

In the link above it was said that an unsupported site will never show as correctly updated though it is. How can I do this manually ? I did both a regular inline upgrade and via a downloaded launcher file which seemed to be identical if you ask me.
TY
Hm, what you mean not updating?

Now the latest version is 5.0.41.

If those unsupported site, it should show your current Easyblog version, you can take a look of my attached screenshot below.

May i know is it this information didn't appear on your unsupported site?

Thats what I see, and no matter what method I use to upgrade it stays the same. Despite success messages during install.

So from the other thread it was mentioned that this doesn't correctly show the version. So thats why I need to manually see what version I am at.

If you mean other thread is https://stackideas.com/forums/site-backend-says-it-updates-but-old-version-still-shown , what I mean is if today we release another new version for Easyblog which is 5.0.42 , so those unsupported domain site will not get this latest version info from backend Easyblog dashboard page, so it will always show your current version which is 5.0.41 for example.

I am not worried if it doesnt show the version as per your original screen shot - because its not a supported doamain.

I would like to know if I can check some other way to see what actual version it is - for security purposes. There should be a version stamp in one of the source files but I cannot locate it.

We do not have store the latest version numbering in the core file, but the faster way you can use is view page source from your site Easyblog page then search this keyword "FD50:EasyBlog", it will show the version number.
