I'm trying to use the broadcast message option but every time I post I get this error:

Sorry, but the content is currently not available or you do not have permissions to view the item.

Any ideas?
Hello Alex,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

The broadcast notification will appear at any page that the user is currently viewing as long the page is within joomla. Regarding with the delay, it depends on the polling intervals you set from backend > easysocial > settings > alerts for the broadcast message to appear.

Regarding with your second inquiry, you can go to your backend > easysocial > Alerts in order for you to see the list of activity the get send out the email notification. http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-02-17_1645.png

Hope these help

Hi Alex,

Can you provide us with backend access and FTP access so that we can have a better look on this issue.

Please advise.

Hi Mohd,

I think I figured out the issue. I did not have any other user set up and I suspect that without a user the broadcast message has nowhere to go. Once I set up a fake test user, I was able to create a message.

A related question, as I am trying to see what the end user will experience. - Is the message broadcast triggered as part of the cronjob? Meaning, how soon does the message take go out. I have found thus far that the pop up does not appear right away.

I have logged out the user and logged back in to see if that makes any difference.

Also, can you point me to what email notifications get sent out to users on activities in easysocial. I'm trying to decide the best way to reach users that may be time sensitive.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I am sorry for the late reply.
Oh, I am glad to know that this issue is no where serious.

Regarding your second issue, the broadcast message do not use cron to process it. It's instantaneously displayed to the user. It should be no delayed unless the site is extremely slow.

About your third issue, I seem can't understand you well.
can you point me to what email notifications get sent out to users on activities in easysocial.

Please advise.

Hi Mohd, I'm not sure what the delay is. I have 2 browsers open each with different users to test. Does it matter what page of the dash board the user is to see the notification?

As for the email, I'm just wondering what sorts of activities get send out as emails (similar to what facebook does) to users?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Ezrul,

Okay, I will check the polling setting.

The Alert section is great! It has the list I was looking for!

Thanks for all the help!
