Hello.

When easyblog posts to facebook, I get a 'boost unavailable' on the post. Facebook say it's because the app (i,e, easyblog) is still in development mode.

I realise you're not responsible for what facebook does, but wouldn't it be beneficial to you if facebook would recognise you as 'public' and therefore allow your clients to boost their published blog posts?

Many thanks.

Geoff
Hello Geoff,

Facebook doesn't allow us to create a single app that can be used across all our clients as it violates policy. They would require that you as the site owner create your own app on Facebook and submit the app to be approved by them.

OK thanks. I wonder how companies like 'buffer.com' or 'recurpost.com' manage to do it?

I believe these sites are actually storing data for all your posts on their own server. When you schedule a post, these posts that appears on Facebook is probably using one of their internal urls and they would then redirect them accordingly to your sites.

Oh I see - but in this case the posts are coming from my own website?

It's a shame because it makes all my blog posts look somehow inauthentic. Although I guess the other facebook viewers don't see what I see.

Thanks for your help anyway.
