Hello,

Quick question, I changed some settings on my website forcing https instead of http... would this impact the EasyBlog component? It seems that I am unable to go modify previously posted blogs in the backend, I am getting an internal server error ... Everything is working fine on the front end. Do I need to change anything in the configuration of EasyBlog? I created a new post and I was able to go back in this one ...

Thanks!

Dominic
Hi there,

After long hour checking on this issues, it seems that there are issues on our end. We have applied some fixed at this path .../components/com_easyblog/router.php and it should load faster now.

We will include them on our next release version.

Hi there,

I believed it is because of this http://take.ms/kJgXR setting set on your configuration.php files as you can see here /root folder/configuration.php . You will need to change them to https accordingly.

If that not the case, is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue? Please advice.

Hello,

Thanks for the quick reply. I fixed the configuration.php file but it did not resolve the issue. I provided you with the backend access if you can have a look... I gave up lol Not sure what is going on!

Also, I find that the loading time is quite long (backend blogs) ... must have something wrong in my config). Sometimes the page load but text format... see attached.

Thanks!

Seems like i'm hitting this http://take.ms/dWmRT on your end. Can you provide us with your FTP access so that we can further check this issues?

Please advice.

Hi there,

After further check, it seems that your contents(images and etc) are too big and need time to processed. Can you consult with your current web hosting service provider to increase max_execution_time accordingly and see if those issues still persisted or not.

Hi there,

I tried with 60, 90 and now 120 and you were right, it seems to be working now but that's quite the wait to load my Blog in the backend... I honestly don't have a big site or blog... Is it normal? Should I do something else to optimize my site/blog?

Thanks guys!

Hi Dom,

How is it going? We hope everything is fine on your side.

We would like to inform you that we will be releasing a new version of EasyBlog soon. However, regarding on the original issue here, unfortunately we are not able to add the proper fix into this release package as we are having difficulties to replicate the issue on our local site. There could be some extra element or variables that are not present in our local testing site but it exists on yours.

The fix that we applied on your site previously was just a temporary fix where the preview url of the blog post is force to be non-SEF instead of the normal SEF. Last time we checked on your site, the process of converting the non-SEF url to SEF url is what causing the massive slowdown issue. However, this is only happened when the process is took place on the backend of your site.

With that being said, if you would like to upgrade your EasyBlog to latest version later on, you are require to re-patch the temporary fix that was made in administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/router.php . I will attach the file in this reply for future references.

Lastly, would you mind if you can re-provide the Joomla backend access and FTP access of your site so that our developer can directly debug the issue firsthand on your site? We would also like to know if your server have some sort of security module installed that could prevent the self-connection from your backend to the frontend?

Please advise.

Hi Ezrul,

Sorry for the delay, I was away for a bit. Things are going good here thanks for asking.

First of all I really appreciate the heads up and how you guys keep track of your tickets, I am really impressed with the support! As long as I get the fix/patch in the event where your update was to break what you temporarily fix I am fine with that, no rush ... I know you guys are busy

I will download the patch as soon as I am done updating this ticket

As for the access, I sure can give you guys access, I will set this up and hopefully it'll be open by the end of today if not tomorrow at the latest. I am running CentOS 7 on a VM using Webmin/Virtualmin so fairly straight forward ... nothing else on the server I can think of.

Let me know if you have question.

Thanks!

Hi Dom,

Thanks for getting back to us. I am able to access your Joomla backend now. However it seems like the provided SFTP is not working for me.

Please advise.

Ok, bizarre as it’s working on my side from the outside. Connection or credential issues?

Hello Dom,

It seems like there were some conflict with the username credentials with the site details on your replies and the original post. I am able to access the SFTP now .

We will perform a debugging process on your site now without trying to interfere the normal operation of your site and we will get back to you once we have figured out the root cause to this issue.

Thanks again for your kind corporation!

Hi Dom,

We are still debugging the issue on your site. However for some reason it seems like the issue is no longer persists on your site when I reverted the temporary fix. Can you try again to access the post from your backend and see if everything load normally on your side?

Hi Ezrul,

I did some test today before and after upgrading my EasyBlog installation and you're right, the issues seemed to be resolved. I no longer have the delay loading the pages in the backend... Not too sure what happened there... unless one of the Joomla update fixed the issues...
