my feeling is that technically the stackideas components (ES, EB, ED) are slowly but increasingly merging.
but what I miss over the years is a solid uniform look and feel (UI) of the components.
A lot of users have asked about better unifying the toolbars, module layout’s and many more things that could be harmonised over the components.
Why do you make it so difficult for yourself and try to build up your own experience design per component when there are some great ones out there?
if i look at tailwind as an example, where you can easily integrate component examples into existing projects and simply adapt them, saving a lot of time to work purely on the technical tasks of the components:
https://tailwindui.com/
There will soon be an interface for ecommerce too. that could be fit well for the marketplace design in ES:
https://tailwindui.com/ecommerce

jreviews are also going in this direction for the development (read about “Locality of Behavior”):
https://www.jreviews.com/blog/the-next-evolution-of-jreviews

stackideas team, save your time to worry about the design. use it for the important things: implementing new ideas from the voices, fixing bugs and improving and simplifying the interaction of the components.
Hello n00bster,

Thank you for your input and suggestions. We have already started the unification of design elements within our extensions and we have not announced much on this yet as we are still working on it.

The initial problem we were trying to solve is when users does not have every extension and because there was a transition from Joomla 1.5 > 2.5 and 3.x, we had to decide between using Bootstrap 2, 3 and 4.

Truth be told, we have been struggling with every extensions releases and it is primarily because of the way we handle these different design elements between different extensions.

Starting from EasyBlog 6 onwards, we'll be unifying all our design elements including a unified and intelligent toolbar.

hi Mark, thank you for your reply.
Starting from EasyBlog 6 onwards, we'll be unifying all our design elements including a unified and intelligent toolbar.

Sounds promising, thank you for this inside information.

what i would personally like to see is that the further development of a stackideas unified component design does not take too long!
because by now there are very many voices per component and there are more and more.

btw. please update the status of the completed voices - it is hard so see what is done already.

Making a unified design across all of our extensions requires great planning and very thorough testing because not only we need to think of a way to future proof the concept, we also need to consider backwards compatibility as well.

For instance, we have a "wireframe" theme in EasyBlog, EasySocial and EasyDiscuss. Some customers prefer the wireframe version from EasyBlog, but some others prefer the wireframe version from EasySocial. In order to unify them, we need to carefully select and decide what is best for everyone.

Thanks for the reminders on the user voice. We'll clean it up once we have spare time on our hands. Our priority right now is towards extension updates and the framework. This is why you don't see me as often on the helpdesk too
