Hello Support

Somehow I have ended up with two Blog pages for my Blog.

http://finalbug.net/blog
and
http://finalbug.net/bruce-blog

Someone who was testing the Site for me noticed this. And could not remember how he reproduced this. I suspect that one of the links. Probably the first one is going to a hidden menu that was set up for “Easy Blog at some point.

When I try to change this:

http://finalbug.net/bruce-blog
too
http://finalbug.net/blog

In the menu editor (Menu Title) in the back end I get this:

Save failed with the following error: Another menu item has the same alias in Root. Root is the top level parent.

This is hardly ideal is it?

Please advise?

best

Paul
Hello Paul,

These are actually just menu aliases. If you just want to use /blog , then delete the other "bruce-blog" menu item If you need to display a menu item and do not want to generate a new alias for it, use the "menu alias" type for the menu and select the "blog" menu.

Hi Mark

What I did was changed the hidden (Blog) from "blog" hidden menu too main menu! And then unpublished the (Blog) menu “bruce-blog.” Kind of makes sense does it not. I think the hidden menu was a left over from days when my home page was my blog page!?!

Hello Paul,

Hm, to be honest I am not too sure how is your current menu setup but if you remove the other menu, it should be fine I guess?

Hi Mark

Well lets be crazy and assume that just because things appear to work, they might actually really work
