Tweeter button adds extra characters on the header

Hi all,

I have noticed something odd about tweeter share button. When clicked you can see the header of the blog be sent with strings such %5B or so %5D. A good example, in my case I have a blog heading called "<blockquote>[Infographic] A Framework for Global Competence</blockquote>". But once you are on the twitter popup page to share the link the header appears as "<blockquote>%5BInfographic%5D</blockquote> A Framework for Global Competence " note the the funny strings replace the "<blockquote>[</blockquote>".

I have an old version of Easyblog installed on my DEV site and that one seems to strip out the unknown characters and display all the headings without %5B or so %5D, but this is not the same case with the latest version.

Hello Nitya,

Did you make sure that magic_quotes_gpc is turned off in your server? You could view this in your Joomla Backend > System Information > PHP
I tried sharing your post on my twitter and it is not displaying the %5B or %5D, please advice?

Thank you for your reply, I checked my PHP settings magic_quotes_gpc, magic_quotes_runtime, and magic_quotes_sybase all are set to off. I tried again to share two different blog posts but still the the %5B or %5D show on my tweet posts, this even happens to my colleagues and users. Please see the attached screen shot

Hello Nitya,

You are running Easyblog version "3.9.14974", please upgrade to see if this issue is fixed, not issue still persist please provide us with the Joomla back end access as well as the FTP access so that I can check on the issues on your site? We actually need these information so that we can debug on your issues quickly.
