Had this in another system I was using before stepping over to EasyDiscuss. Basically an admin feature that lets you turn a reply into a comment. On my site the replies are reserved for proper answers to the original question, but many times people would unwittingly use it to discuss other answers making the post sometimes very cluttered.

As an admin, you would click on the "turn this into a comment" button and a popup would ask you which other reply this comment will belong to. Press OK and voila. Had to use it countless times, and hope this will make it into EZD sometime.

Hi Mark,

Sorry for awakening this old thread:o
you now know the amount of sifting i'm doing in your forums!! That too on a weekend

There is a way for achieving this, once a user submits a comment to a reply post, the orginal reply can have a link (2 replies) when clicked on this the only the reply with comments below is shown.

you can see it in action on
http://mmb.moneycontrol.com/stock-message-forum/morepenlab/comments/615
(parent thread)

http://mmb.moneycontrol.com/india/messageboardblog/message_thread/26367212/28179237#m28179237
(Parent Thread-->Reply-->Comment to reply thread)

basically the reply and their comments become a thread in itself.
Would love to see this in ED

regards
