Hmmm... been through them all and found a couple that referred to 'dating', but none with the actual title of the 'dating' search module block. Actually, the more I look at it, the more I'd like to take the gender selection out as well. This is for a closed group of people discussing chivalry. It wont be, and shouldn't be used for dating. Is there a way to disable that search box entirely?

I know I did not need this and I was able to turn it off by removing the plugin. Of course that removes it and it may be your solution could be found in that plugin? I will poke around mine and see what I can find out, but i am sure someone from support will hook you up soon.

I have inspected your site and it seems you're using EasySocial Dating Search Module on the side bar. I am not sure what you're trying to achieve here. Perhaps you can explain more or provide us with some screenshot on this issue so that we can understand this better.
