Hi,

I am trying to clear out old events but keep getting issues (including freezing of screen) when I try to delete on mass. In events I set the show to 100 events (as all is worse - frozen screen mentioned above) and select all and the click delete but it causes error:

0 Joomla\Filesystem\File::delete: Failed deleting inaccessible file index.html

I did try searching for the events table in mysql to delete them that way but the table isn't there or at least it isn't under the events part of the social tables so not sure.

Hi there,

It seems that there are a lot of events on your end and may i know which events are particularly you wanted to delete with? Is it you wanted to remove them all? If yes, can i have your permission to try to remove them on your end?

Do remember to do full backup on your site first so that we can re-do them again.

Hi there,

After checking this issues, it seems that this files https://take.ms/qviX7 cannot be deleted as we(current logged in user on backend and FTP) dont have enough permission to delete them as you can see it current permission are 644. Here are path .../media/com_easysocial/photos/10529/index.html for that files.

Maybe you can try to delete them(user with full permission) and see if you can delete them or not.

No I can't delete them either. What should the permission be on the index files? They are all 644 currently

Hi there,

Maybe you can consult with your current web hosting service provider to provide you with root users account for your FTP so that you can manually delete or change it permission to 755 in order for you to delete them.

What should the permission be on the index files?

Currently, current logged in users on the backend dont have permission to delete file with 644 permission as those files can be delete by your root/master users only.

In order for those index.php can be deleted, it need to have 755 permission.

Ok thanks I will change the permissions.

May I ask if there is any setting to delete past events after a certain time i.e. 1 month?

Hi there,

Unfortunately, we dont have them currently.

Having said that, it would best if you could submit your feature request regarding this simply by creating a new ticket on the forums, and set it to "Feature Request" so everyone else on the site could vote for it as well. The team will usually prioritize features that are in popular demand during the development process of the next major release.
