Hi there

Now it´s time for me to go in deeper details setup my site in two languages. Currently I start with German and English.

The translation does work so far except one link in EasySocial Toolbar, which is "Profile".

I only use Easy Social Toolbar for internal EasySocial Navigation. My Profile works fine in German. If I log out and login again but this time language set to English "Profile" works fine to.

But here is the Problem: If I log in with one Language and then switch to another language -"Profile" Link is not working.

In screenshot you see my menu set up structure. I am not shure if my approach is the ride one?

I think it works fine now. Hopefully changes you have made Arlex are not be overwritten with in next EasySocial Update?

Another Question Arlex,

in EasySocial Toolbar Link items are not connected from language to another language. If I set up menus manually joomla gives me this option as we all know. For me it´s fine this way. But just in case, is there a way to connect link items in Easy Social Toolbar?

Hey Peter,

It seems like when i set "Language Selection for new Visitors" to Site Language from System - Language Filter , it seems work fine, can you give it a check is it work fine now?

Hi Arlex


it seems Profile switch in EasySocial Toolbar could cause a problem if "Remove URL Language Code" is set to "No". If two different languages using two different language codes for e.g "en" for English and "de" for German could cause a problem. It works only with one language code. In my example it is "en" which is taken automatically.

So here is my question: In screenshot you see settings which seem to work fine with setting ":Remove URL Language Code" YES"

What do you think is this solution best, or do you prefer to something differen?

Hi there,

You cannot manually change the language on your URL as those menu items set for each language already different. Those links should be as listed below

By the way, currently, it seems that your menu is somehow not properly setup as Frontpage menu item for your EasySocial for english language are currently trashed and it will not works properly.

Please advice.

it is a little hard for me to follow you. Perhaps you can advise me how I should setup menu. Or If you have the chance go ahead and try something.Feel free to do any changes if you like. I have backups. It´s best to give me an example how it should be done.

Hey Peter,

We already applied some fix in this file JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/router.php , it should work fine now.

But what we advise not to set your existing menu item to "All language" if you setup multilingue on your site, is because if some of the link didn't create menu item for it, it will fall back to use these menu item which you set to support "All language".

Can you give it a check is it work fine now?

You can actually create both language hidden menu from backend, for example :

English hidden menu - Create each Group/Page/Event/Videos/Photo/People listing page menu under English language
German hidden menu - Create each Group/Page/Event/Videos/Photo/People listing page menu under German language

Then associated these menu items together.

So when the user click on Group listing page then switch to another language, it will redirect back to the correct Group listing page.

It really helps, because here in Germany we are: D 6 hours earlier. It´s so fantastic working on a project be helped by very nice people sitting in their office thousands of miles away. I wonder how you can handle all this questions from all around the world.

It really helps, because here in Germany we are: D 6 hours earlier. It´s so fantastic working on a project be helped by very nice people sitting in their office thousands of miles away. I wonder how you can handle all this questions from all around the world.

Actually that is customised from our website designer. Normally our support available time from 10am - 7pm Malaysia time, if there any urgent issue, we will try our best to online and help on our customer.
