Jan, have you tried Joomla override in the administrator section(https://i.imgur.com/zx2Ya40.png)? This is because the translation file is located at the administrator section.

The file is located at JoomlaFolder/administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_payplans.ini but I would suggest using override so that your changes are protected from future updates.

You can use Joomla's language override to override the following translation.


COM_PAYPLANS_SUBSCRIPTION_NEXT_EXPECTED_PAYMENT="Next Payment %s is expected on %s"
Try it out and let us know how it goes.

Go to Joomla backend Extensions-->Languages-->Overrides

Create new override... this is standard Joomla knowledge..

Yes it would also be good to have some custom .ini folder for each of these "customized" language translations you doing and this should work like for template css files /folder/template/templatX/customer.css similar like JoomlaFolder/administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_payplans.ini/custom en-GB.com_payplans.ini that never should be overwritten and complimentary to the ordinary .ini file like Joomla langauge override system..

just a tip for improvement..
