Hello,

Even transifex translation have to be paid to Stackideas?
I am quite stunned that you require a valid up-to-date subscription to download or in my case update languages.
In order for you to enjoy the flexibility of single button download, there are unfortunately no ready made solutions that does this. We have to:

1. Write the scripts ourselves
2. Link to Transifex
3. Setup an additional cloud instance and pay the cloud provider each month
4. Maintain the server.

All these are costs involved and as much as I want it to be free for everyone, someone has to subsidize the cost.

If you want it to be free, I can definitely switch it to free provided that you provide the solutions above and I am happy enough to modify the codes to link to your service.

Further to what I have written above, translators are not translating our extensions for free. We exchange subscriptions so that they can gain access. In other words, we paid for their service to translate.

In order for them to continuously maintain the language file, we have to continuously provide exchange subscriptions and these are also costs involved.

Hey Mark,

99,99% of Joomla! extensions translations hosted on Transifex or elsewhere are downloadable for free, you are in the 0,01%
These developers also have to support your above listed arguments therefore I cannot accept any single argument you provide.

Why do we have to pay for these translations when at the best they are:
- approximative (even in native en-EN)
- sometimes wrong
- and for the majority of them incomplete !

Moreover the native english has quite a few INCOMPLETE_STRINGS here and there.

So, If we revise, complete and maintain one or more language, concretely what will be our advantage?

You can still download it for FREE from transifex. Nothing stops you from downloading them. You just need to do this manually

FYI Stackideas has to accept any Transifex user as a translation team member to let this user download any file...

Some translators have a limited understanding / vocabulary in the source and/or the target language but they do their best.
Some other translators are only interested in the "financial" counterpart.

In both cases if there isn't a language coordinator/reviewer this ends up with incorrect/approximative translations and some word concordance inconsistencies.

Can you please make sure there is a qualified coordinator/reviewer to guarantee a correct translation for every language (which in my eyes justifies an active subscription to download translation files).

Maybe you can grant us a coordinator/reviewer user role on Transifex to maintain a better translation than the one available to date.
I am interested in both: a correct translation and a counterpart hahaha

Let me know your thoughts...

It is very difficult to coordinate this because 70% of these translators are in only for the sake of the license and we have no way to find out only after waiting for several months.

This is something that we have been trying to combat since day 1 but it's tough because:

1. They are all translating in a different language and they look alien to me. If we could understand some of the vocab, then at least we could moderate it.

2. Many proclaim that they are the best in their vocab but some other users complaints that most of these translations are done by simply copy / pasting into google translate.

3. Finding a good moderator is not easy because then, someone else would complain about translations.

We are constantly finding ways to improvise on the workflow for translators though.
