We are moving from one Domain Name to another with our entire site design and user base. What is going to be the best way to move ES to another site and keep all profile pictures and such?

I'm semi starting the site from scratch so we get rid of all the cookie cutter fluff that comes with our original RT theme. So the database is fresh, I will migrate all the DB tables for ES, but what folders will I need to focus on and migrate to the new server?
Hello Fred,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I think migrating the entire site and database is pretty easy and all you probably need to do is this:

1. Set the current site to offline
2. Take a snapshop backup of the database, export it into .sql file
3. Import the .sql file on your new server
4. Take a snapshop backup of the entire site's folder, compress it.
5. Upload it to your new server, extract it.
6. Re-create the mysql user with the same access / password etc.
7. Change your DNS to point to your new server's ip address

Well the thing is Mark, I'm not keeping all my site files, so I just want to transfer over the ES stuff that is related to the user uploads.

Since we were requested to change our Domain Name, I'm taking this opportunity to get all the crap we have installed on the site over the last year in testing stuff.

Hello Fred,

Then it's going to be a pretty tricky situation You probably want to just copy over the images / photos / etc across? Most of them would be in the /media/com_easysocial/ folder if you did not change the storage paths.
