It seems that the Featured flag puts a post on the top of the forum, not at the top of a category.

In our case, we have multiple products, each with its own category, so customers can ask questions about them. We want to have an announcement message that always appears at the top of the category - A Welcome + Q&A. How can this be accomplished?
hey lynn,
actually when featuring a post it does both (as long as it's part of a category). as an example you have a post in category A and you feature this the result will be that it's pinned on top of your easydiscuss frontpage AND on the category A page as well.

if that's not the case at your end please provide us with your access details (in the site details tab) so that we can debug this directly at your end.

Hi Alex,

What I am looking for is for a post to be featured only in a category and not in the frontpage. In the business case I outlined, users of one product may not find that information relevant.

hey lynn,
no worries - that's absolutely possible with easydiscuss from the first post it sounded that posts ONLY showed up on the frontpage but not the category at all, therefore my explanation.

now let's get to your usecase: if you want to not have the featured posts on the frontpage please go to your easydiscuss backend -> settings -> layout -> featured posts and set the option "Show Featured Posts on Frontpage" to NO.

hope that helps and have a nice day
