Too much info in Group News Feed

Every time someone joins or leaves a group, a message is posted in the group news feed. In a large company this could possibly result in hundreds of messages which add nothing to the feed in the way of useful information.

Can these messages informing everyone be turned off as a default?

You can achieved them by going to Backend>Components>EasySocial>Applications>Groups(group) then disable 'Display Join Group Stream' and 'Display Leave Group Stream' as shown https://screencast.com/t/QrqiZ8hQGc. Please give it a try and see how it goes.
