Hi,

can you tell me, what access level does the home page dashboard need to be set at for Easysocial? Also, does it have to be set as the default?

Why I ask, is I am just testing my registration and login process from live (for first time) by clicking on the Register button in Docker, and I am receiving a 'Too many redirects' error message with a white screen. I have Payplans integration.

At the moment I have my regular Home page set as the default, which is set to Public, and my EasySocial Dashboard Layout page is set to Registered. Is this the correct? Or should the EasySocial page be the default and set to Public? It has been a considerable time since I have set up a live registration on my site.

Kind regards

Mel
Hey Mel,

If the dashboard menu item is set to registered, then you should at least create another menu item that links to the registration layout in EasySocial and set that to public.

The reason why you are getting the "Too many redirect" errors is mainly because of this:

1. You clicked on registration link.

2. Since there is only 1 menu item and that access is set to registered, Joomla is redirecting you to the login screen.

3. Since EasySocial has a system plugin that redirects all access to com_users to EasySocial, it tries to redirect to EasySocial's registration.

4. When it redirects to the registration page, it redirects with the same menu id (which is set to registered) and the loop goes on and on

Hi Mark,

thanks for responding and for the explanation - it makes perfect sense.

Can I just ask, does the additional link have to be viewable or can it be hidden i.e. with no visual link? When you say Registration link, is there a menu link for EasySocial called Registration? or do I simply create a hidden dashboard link? Or, as I am using Payplans, is it a Paypleans registration page I need?

Sorry if I seem a little confused still - its all the integrations I have

Update: I have just spotted the User Registration link in EasySocial menu but I need to have the registration page come up with Paylplans subscriptions - its this I am confused about.

Hey Mel,

Yep, it could be hidden. You could create the registration view menu item mainly for this purpose because EasySocial needs some way to related the view to a menu item. By default, if there isn't any menu item apart from the one you created for the dashboard, it will try to associate itself with that menu.

By the way, you could still create the EasySocial registration menu (hidden) and create another menu item that links to payplans (visible)

I think I am having a daft half hour here

So I have now created a copy of the EasySocial dashboard menu link in hidden menu and set it as public. Tested and still get the redirect error loop.

Then I tried to create the Payplans menu link to registration. There are only 3 options so I added these. None of them said Register. Then I try again and now I get the subscription plans come up, but then when I click on one I get the redirect loop error. I just went in to Payplans configuration page and at the top there is this error message:

Error
Template file : button missing for app payplans

Could that be why I am getting the redirect problem? Is there another special menu link for Payplans registration process?

I have enabled access just in case you want to see for yourself.

Hm, I managed to login to your site initially but as soon as I open the menu manager, it locks me out and renders this, http://take.ms/7aRNr

Anyways,

1. You need 1 hidden menu item that is linked to "Registration Layout" NOT the dashboard layout

2. You need a menu item that is visible that links to the PayPlans

Hi Mark,

that was my fault I must have clicked the enabled twice!

It is still enabled. When you say linked to Payplans, which of the 3 menu items does it need to link to?

I have changed the "Register" menu on your site. By the way I believe Payplans is already redirecting accordingly when people click on the register links.

Hi Mark,

I am sure this is me being an idiot. I have been messing with it for hours and cannot get it to work. When I switch my site live and test the registration process the Membership page comes up with the 4 options, and I click on one of the subscriptions and it triggers that error of too many redirects. I know if you click on a subscription whilst it is offline it goes to the next stage (which is what you see) but it wont work when live - which is when it is supposed to work.

I have moved my payplans menu in to the footer area for now, as didn't want that visible as such as prefer to use the Register in the DOcker.

Are you able to see what I am doing wrong with this setup? As I just can't get the process to work. Is it anything to do with which menu item is set as default?

Hi Mel,

Thanks for your cooperation, I'm appreciate it. After a while debugging this, it seems like the issue came from the plugin Payplans-Content Seller . For further checking this we need your FTP working, as I try to access your FTP it seems the password is not correct http://take.ms/8IIf0
I've temporary disable this plugin, can you give it another try?

Hi Muhammad,

I have enabled the ftp.

I have just checked and you are correct, it now goes through to the payment section

I am wondering if the Payplans plugins are responsible for my menus not showing too (this isn't a stackideas problem by the way) but maybe I need to see what else is installed in the plugins section

Hi Mel,

Thanks, I'm able to access your FTP now as we need to check the plugin issue further.

I am wondering if the Payplans plugins are responsible for my menus not showing too

-> I believe this issue has been encounter before by one of the user.
Can you try download my attached file and replace into following file location and see how it goes?
JoomlaFolder/plugins/payplans/menuaccess/menuaccess/joomla/abstract/j35/menu.php
Once you replace the file you have to enable back this plugin PayPlans-Menu Access from your site backend > extension > plugin .

You're suggested to backup the file that you want to replace beforehand for precaution

Hi Muhammad,

in addition to above. I have just noticed that my chatbar no longer appears since m\king the changes. Is this something to do with that file do you know? It is my arrowchatbar that sits at bottom of my pages in the footer.

Hi Muhammad,
my apologies, I didn't see your response (didn't appear to receive an email notification like I normally do). I am still trying to get my chatbar back. I am guessing you are not around now? Will Monday be when you are next available?

Hi,

just to let you know that my chatbar not displaying issue was NOT caused by the change in your file. It was mod_pagespeed blocking it and because I had cleared my cache etc. that I first noticed it stopped displaying and because I had just replaced the file you sent, thought that was the cause . I had installed pagespeed to try and speed my site up. I have now removed pagespeed via EasyApache and my chatbar shows. It is a shame I have had to remove pagespeed but it seems to cause issues.

Anyway, thank you so much for helping me out with my issues in this thread.

Kind regards
