Can anyone help? I did the upgrade and throughout the frontend and backend I am getting long names in random places....

Can you download the launcher and perform the installation again? I think you may have upgraded from a "faulty launcher". If the problem still persists, is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?
