This is part of a group of reports related to time zones.

Because a user cannot specify the local time zone, then a global community of users experiences a lot of confusion about online Event scheduling.

A step toward fixing this issue is that when a user creates an Event, it will be created in the time zone specified in that user's profile.

It would be great to let the user who creates the Event edit the time zone for the Event as needed after the Event has been created using this item on the New Event or Edit Event forms.

I have attached a screen snapshot of the Event Details form where a user can edit an Event listing.
Hi there,

It seems I do not see any screenshot attached above
Correct me if I am wrong here, do you mean you want to set timezone for event yes?
If yes, actually you can enable the in the backend>custom fields>workflow>event workflow as example shown here: https://take.ms/rhvQj

Hope this helps

Hi,
So we turn on timezone for events, and timezone for users, but it looks like it still shows the same time no matter where you are.
Also, it doesn't ask the user to set timezone when they create an event. see screenshots

So actually I did notice that the time at the title DO change with the user time zone, but the time at the event does not.
Is there any way to make the two-place change according to the local timezone, and also is there a way to show what timezone is the time at the event. It is very confusing now!

Ah, this issue has been fixed in the latest EasySocial version 3.2.11, it seems you still using an older version of it.
It is possible for you to update to the latest version?

Hi,
So we updated EasySocial and we are getting some progress. But it is still not ideal, to say the least:
So when you create an event, and put time, it doesn't ask you in which timezone you would like the set the event.
It is setting the event in the system time zone. but then it shows up in the user timezone. So if the system is set to PST, and you live in NY (EST).
When you create an event and put 12:00 pm it will create in the system timezone so it will be shown at 3 pm. Is there a way to show timezone in events? We have the setting for timezone turn on, but it still not showing (see screenshot).
Also, is there a way to show the user the timezone while they create the event? It is very confusing now, since you create the event in a time that you have no idea what timezone it is.

Hi Bulbul,

It seems you did not enable the timezone in the event workflow https://take.ms/zAJnW in order to set the timezone in each events. Thus the timezone will not shows in the event display.
I have enabled the setting and it should shows the timezone now

Great!
Is there any way to show the time zone also in the creation page of the event? That would make it very clear!

But, how did you do it? We need it for events in the catagory "online", they have their own workflow. can you do it there too?

Ok, so now we have the timezone in the event creation. thank you!
However, it looks like there are some bugs:
We have created an event with:
https://faenet.org/community-events/1164-test-timezone-jerusalem
this event was created 10 pm Jerusalem time, and when you look at the event it shows the right time: "10 pm Jerusalem time", however, if you change the time zone to Los Angeles, it change the time to 3 pm (see screenshot) and that is not right. It should at 12 pm.
Also, it is not clear what it is "reset to default" or "use local timezone",

Also, can you explain what "reset to default" or "use local timezone" suppose to do?

Hi there,

We probably will release new version next week, but I will update you once our developer has push the fix into repository

Also, can you explain what "reset to default" or "use local timezone" suppose to do?

Reset to default actually will fall back to the event's timezone
and for Local timezone is actually will follow your site's timezone or if the user has set their own timezone, it will follow to their timezone

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding Bulbul
