time seting is not right for german or europe time in list viewsNot in europe time setting like 15:00 Uhr

Here we dont need Pm or Am we have a timeset from 0:00 to 24:00

and also the language for "month" "weeks" and "days" and on the left "today" - content is not translated

and also stream entry is not translated

and also in sitebar

have included screenshots of all
Hello Marco,

The date time in the calendar app is dependent on your locale settings in your Joomla language file. We actually render it depending on the en-GB.ini for instance.

Hello Marco,

Oh, sorry my bad. It looks like we hardcoded it to use 12 hours time instead of 24 hours. You can edit this by editing the files below,

/media/com_easysocial/apps/user/calendar/themes/default/streams/create.content.php
/media/com_easysocial/apps/user/calendar/themes/default/streams/update.content.php
/media/com_easysocial/apps/user/calendar/themes/default/canvas/item/default.php
/media/com_easysocial/apps/user/calendar/themes/default/canvas/dialog.view.php

Then, locate the codes below:

jS M, Y g:iA

Replace it with,

jS M, Y H:i

Hello Marco,

Please provide us with the FTP access to look into this. The fix I provided is only a quick fix to display 24h format. We might need to add a new settings for this app in the future so that you can choose to display 24h format or 12h format.

Hi Macro,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding your issue, I've modified your file 'JOOMLA/media/com_easysocial/apps/user/calendar/themes/default/canvas/calendar/default.js' and also added below string into your EasySocial language files:

APP_CALENDAR_TODAY="today"
APP_CALENDAR_MONTH="month"
APP_CALENDAR_WEEK="week"
APP_CALENDAR_DAY="day"
APP_CALENDAR_ALLDAY="all-day"

You will need to translate these string in your de-DE file

Please try again

Hope this help and have a nice day!

Hi you have forgotten the datetime change in calendar entries in stream, sidebar etc.

stream example "23rd Mai 2014 12:00AM ( Ganztägiges Event )"
----> here the 23 "rd" we only use a point for every day "23. Mai"
----> still "am" and "pm"

sidebar example
23rd Mai 2014
---> here also the "rd"

and i have found an issue in calendar, if i create an event and click on save, the event is not shown until saving. Its showing after reload the page

Hi Marco,

Hi you have forgotten the datetime change in calendar entries in stream, sidebar etc.

Ah my bad. I thought you've already apply the fix mention by Mark. Anyway, I've applied the fix and can you give it a try again?

and i have found an issue in calendar, if i create an event and click on save, the event is not shown until saving. Its showing after reload the page

Regarding the above, I cant seem to be able to replicate this issue on your site. When i click on a date in the calendar and added an event, the event title appear immediately without having to refresh the page. Please see http://screencast.com/t/u25YizZjCNp

Please advise.

Hope this help and have a nice day!

Hello Marco,

Hm "Mai" is actually not English? In English it would be "May". This is actually translated using the locale on the site.

Hi Marco,

no i dont mean "mai" i mean the number suffix "rd" "st" "nd" 1st, 2nd 3rd 4th ---> we use 1. 2. 3. 4. , 23., etc

These string cannot be translated because it is part of the date format string. If you do not what to display these day suffix, then you will need to edit below files:

/media/com_easysocial/apps/user/calendar/themes/default/streams/create.content.php
/media/com_easysocial/apps/user/calendar/themes/default/streams/update.content.php
/media/com_easysocial/apps/user/calendar/themes/default/canvas/item/default.php
/media/com_easysocial/apps/user/calendar/themes/default/canvas/dialog.view.php

And change the format string:

jS M, Y H:i

to:

j M, Y H:i

Hope this help and have a nice day!

Speaking of time, in due time ES should have a option that runs all of ES's times based on a single format specified by the user in the global configuration. Joomla articles currently have a setting for "Date Format" which is pretty cool.

Personally I use the p.m./a.m. system, so for myself I don't really have a need for this. But in this case I'm trying to look out for the rest of the world.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the heads up. Yeah, maybe we can add a option to allow admin to specify the datetime format
Thanks again for the suggestion

If it was done globally (for ES) from a single field, this would make the time very consistent, easy to manage, and remove the need for putting individual app options for the time format. That is the second best time method I could think of, the first being one for the entire Joomla site.

Hey Sam,

it would be very cool if you can add this option. I use ES in Germany and not worldwide. And for the most europe countries we use points as suffix and not nd, rd, th ...
Joomla is also working with this european time suffixes and not with english time suffixes

Hey Mark, you forgot to remove "am" and "pm" for 24 hours view in calendar and in conversations and also
the suffixes of days (23rd etc) we only need a point (23.)

Hello Marco,

I am really sorry about that, I missed this thread as I was really occupied with the development of EasySocial and EasyBlog I think we will probably need to rely on Joomla's DATE_FORMAT_LC1 - 4 to avoid issues like this. This would then allow people to use their own locale instead. I will patch this up in 1.2.16. (Sorry about that Marco, we missed this for 1.2.15)

Hi Micro,

Thanks for your understanding. As for the 'conversation' the time format, for the quick fix, edit the file 'JOOMLA/components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/conversations/read.item.message.php' and look for below code at line 44:

$msgDateText = ( $message->day > 0 ) ? $msgDate->toFormat('H:i a') : $msgDate->toLapsed();

and replace the time format from 'H:i a' to 'H:i'.

Basically you are removing the 'a' from the format

Hope this help and have a nice day
