Hi,

I have built an intranet site based on easy social and have included integration with active directory. This is bypassing the need for registration merely by the user login in first time with their system username and password.

On login, and account is automatically created in joomla and subsequently in easysocial.

My question is, is there a way in which ALL the information held on an employee, ie phone, extension, mobile etc can be populated straight into their easysocial profile during this process as currently it only recognises username, password and email address.

If we were to set up custom field somehow in Joomla for instance, is their a way to tie this into easysocial.

Any assistance would be mightly appreciated.
hi ollie parkinson,

Sorry for late reply to this,

Do you mean that you would like the Easysocial registration included this few field ( , ie phone, extension, mobile )?

If yes, you can select which registration mode you would like display on your Easysocial frontpage, example : mini registration and full registration.

If you prefer to use mini registration, you have go to your backend > Easysocial > Profile type > select your profile type > custom field tab > select ( phone, extension, mobile) custom field > click edit > view > display on mini registration - YES (check my screenshot : http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-25_0046.png )

Hope this help.

Hi Arlex,

There is no registration process for the user as an account is automatically generated on their first login, by their details being pulled from Active Directory from our servers.

This is working fine, however the issue is that it only pulls username, password and email address. In the same vein, we wanted to populate other fields such as job title, mobile number, etc etc but not sure how to tie this in.

Any further thoughts, much appreciated.

Hi ollie parkinson,

Sorry for late reply to this,

Unfortunately we do not have a quick way pull your 3rd party user field data in Easysocial at this point of time.

Hi Arlex,

Thanks for coming back and understood.

However, if we are able to create additional fields in the Joomla user information, which is essentially where Easysocial is creating the users from I believe, how would we tie this into the Easysocial user fields.

Easysocial is already pulling username, password and email from the Joomla User account so how would we then tie in any additional fields we might add to Joomla.

I really appreciate your support on this, it is rather essential to the success of this project.

hi ollie parkinson,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,

This is out of our control is because we can't manually create the extra field from Joomla user information.

What we Easysocial do is allow admin extend more information extra custom field in Easysocial, so that when the frontend user view on Easysocial user profile, they can see a lot of extra information.
