Hello wat,

Sorry for late reply to this,
It seems like you hitting this error is because your site missing this file > JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easydiscuss/easydiscuss.xml
So i have manually to move this over in your site, then the EasyDiscuss page can show fine now.

Also, I have check in your site, it seems like your file permission issues when you re-install the EasyDiscuss that moment hitting file permission, mean the latest version file can't able to overridden in your file, so causing this error come out. When i would like to help you re-install the EasyDiscuss component from your site, but i noticed that your php information not all the directory file is writable, see my screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/SEfXRMSm

You have to contact with your webhosting provider to help you set all the directory file to writable and all the folder/file set the permission to 777, then you re-install and see if that could help? Please advise.

Hello wat,

I have mentioned at my previous reply, the reason why you keep hitting those error from your site is because when you installing the Easydiscuss that moment hitting the file permission issues, so you have to re-install again.

But what you should do now is contact with your webhosting provider to help you set all the directory file to writable ( http://screencast.com/t/SEfXRMSm ) and all the folder/file set the permission to 777, then you re-install and see the error is it still existing? Please advise.

Hi Arlex, I change the permission to 777 and re-install but the error show after install easydiscuss -1 - An error has occurred.
Copy failed

Can I upload all file via ftp to update your component or other method to do this because I cannot wait my host provider to reconfig my server? It's take long long time.

Hello Wat,

We have stated this more than once. Changing your files/folders's permission to 777 is not advisable. This makes your site "very" vulnerable to hacking. As for file permission issues, we aren't in control of your server thus we can't actually do much to help you here. We have tried installing other extensions on your site (not Stackideas product) with the same error. The "-1 Copy Failed" error is a common Joomla error when your site's file/folders permission aren't correct somehow. I know logically changing permission to 777 should but in you case it clearly does not. Please contact your webhoster regarding your issue.

Thanks!

Ok Adelene for your explanation again and yes I understand for the risk of chmod 777 but some of your team told us about this http://screencast.com/t/SEfXRMSm and here is another one http://screencast.com/t/PMmVebbBJa6c . I will talk about my web hosting and will be back again.
