hello
Maybe I am missing something but when I change themes hardly anything changes (?)
'Elegant' does turn the background dark; 'bubble' adds a blue line on top; and 'pastel' some green texture
All the other ones give the same plain layout.
I also thought, judging from Easyblog main page, that the template of the main page (where all posts appear) would be highly customizable but this does not seem to be the case, which comes as a big disappointment.
Am I missing something?
Cheers
François
Hey there,

Yes, most of the themes only affect on the blog listing page for the design.

But if you looking for the layout changes on the blog listing page, you can try this following things and see which layout you prefer to show on the site :

1. Create Easyblog - Magazine menu layout

2. Create Easyblog - Grid Menu layout

3. Change the Easyblog - Frontpage blog layout (layout setting to card)

4. Change to Nickel theme

No problem.

You can create those Easyblog menu item from your site backend > Menus > Select your main menu > Click NEW > click SELECT > it will show a pop up allow you choose which extension menu you want (screenshot : https://monosnap.com/file/w9dviOPE5oUkteBX8TQC2qZ0FWjm0C )

Hope this will help.

Hi Arlex
I really feel dumb... you mean creating menu items ? but where will they be displayed?
I did find (attached) the category in the 'add item' menu but it asks what the parent menu is (and of course we don't want to display this)

When you create a new menu item from backend, Joomla required to put the menu title and alias for this.

if you do not want to show this menu item on your main menu bar, you can create hidden menu for this.

Then Add new menu item under this "hidden menu", so this new menu item will not appear on your main menu bar.

For example : https://monosnap.com/file/XJ3BxQ7fbDOr6P38yLCde2euolHvkP

If you would like to preview this menu item page on your site frontend then you have to manually to access it base on what you set that menu alias.

Hello Arlex
Sorry to bother you again.
I have created a post and then indicated a different author (picked up from the list of members).
I thought I would then receive the notification email with the moderation options.
But no. Again I got only the notification with the (green) link to the post.
So I really don't understand how I can generate these moderation emails.
Our blog will be a bit special: only one post a month for a debate, with different authors each time.
But if I am creating the post for them (and then indicate their name as author) I will never receive these moderation?
what is wrong here?
Best regards
François

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

No problem but I have a little bit lost here, do you mean you would like all the new post under moderation first?

If yes and if you logged in as superadmin, system will always publish the blog post on the site immediately without under moderation even you select other author into that blog post.

By the way, if you logged in as normal registered user account and create a new blog post on your site, did this blog post under moderation?

You're welcome François

Actually depend on your current requirement how you want to setup this on your site for example :

1. If you do not want your registered user access your site backend, those user actually can create a new blog post on frontend.
- Create menu item for Easyblog - dashboard (composer) https://monosnap.com/file/2v6dr7Tie2TgEoIY4ClQbkmVZ7uw8b
- If you have show the Easyblog toolbar on the page, frontend user can click this pencil icon on the toolbar (https://monosnap.com/file/2bcxCIgocj8OLh3gxWaxW5PZcXd7TY), so they can able to write the blog post.

2. Regarding with your last 2 reply, I assume you do not want your site registered user can straight away publish their blog post on the site right? If yes, you have to ensure that you have turn off this ACL setting "Allowed to Write New Post" from backend https://monosnap.com/file/J6ijpnUU560C1sK4qELep9XY2XHFrI .

Keep us update if you need any assistance on this, you can update your site backend and FTP access at https://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so we can better have a look what your current configuration setting.
