Hello,
the users do not disconnect after a certain time of no activity, whereas the parameters were put in joomla configuration

Session settings
Session Handler: Database
Session Lifetime : 15
Shared Session : No

Is this setting correct for EasySocial, or is there a setting elsewhere

Regards

Frank
Hi Hazel,

The reason why the user do not disconnect/logout even though it already hit the session lifetime is because notifier ajax request is just like a page refresh and it will reset the user session.

Hope this helps.

Hey Hazel,

When you are on EasySocial page with notifications, an ajax call is triggered behind the scenes (you do not see it) which causes the session to continuously be active. This is why the user is not logged out when the timer expires.

The only way to ensure that the user gets logged out automatically is by turning off all the notifications since the ajax calls needs to be made to query the system if the user has any new friend requests, notifications or messages.
