I was finally able to get one person registered on the site ( see http://stackideas.com/forums/username-does-not-allow-any-names ), but after she received her email confirmation and clicked the link, she got an error stated in the title. She said she can not log in using her username but can with her email.

I have attached the screens she sent me.

http://www.Seethemodel.com
When I look at her user info on the back end it says she's still pending activation. She told me she clicked both links in the email to activate her account.

Hi Bob, are you using the latest version? I had this problem earlier on, but does not seem to be an issue any more. My system is setup so that an admin must activate an account, the reason for this is that we do not want just anyone registering as this is a family only site. Like I said though, the token problem only occurred in earlier versions.

Cheers
Jeff

Hi Bob,

If you are on the latest version and still have this issue, please provide us your site's access and an FTP access so that we can investigate this for you.

Hello Bob,

You may include it under the "Site Details" tab below

FTP Info. If this is public, pls remove it.

Some people, when they receive the email and click the verification links, get errors that say Invalid Token.

Hello Bob,

The access that is in your reply above only contains the FTP details, it does not contain the back end access.

I'll try it again but I entered in, under Site URL, Username and PW. Is that not the joomla backend?

Try this way, you have the password, it's the same for FTP as it is for your Joomla one. url is also the same, http://www.seethemodel.com. Your username is GuestAdmin.

Hi,

I tried with the username GuestAdmin and I am able to access to your site's backend but it seems like this account does not have the authority to access backend EasySocial. Please advise.

I have you set as an Administrator of the site. The only thing higher is a Super Admin, and I've always been told to not make anyone else that level. Is there some setting somewhre I need to set to allow you to get in or do I have to make you a Super Admin?

Hello Bob,

Go to the back end of your site and click on System > Global Configuration > EasySocial. Then, for the Administrator, allow everything but I would strongly urge you to set the account with super administrator as we might need to check other stuffs that are not related to EasySocial as well. By not elevating the permissions, this will just delay things as we need to go back end forth to check.

Hi,

Hmm I tested by registering 2 new user on your site.

1 is activated by manually copying the activation token and paste it on the final step in the registration, 2 is by clicking on the activate button in the email, and I am able to activate/login properly either way.

Perhaps you should test it yourself again and see if you are able to reproduce the issue?

The registration was set to Require User Activation. I just changed it to Require Admin Approval. Please try again and if you can, try on multiple browsers as that's where I've seen problems.

Is there any way to have people upload a minimum number of photos during the registration process BEFORE administration approval?

Also, I've tried adding the album application several times to my profile and it never seems to show up under my apps. Is there a way that I can make the albums is automatically installed for users and that it is always shown in a specific place?

Hi,

If you registration is set to Require Admin Approval, then that means the user won't be able to activate themselves, admin will have to approve it through backend -> EasySocial.

Minimum number of photos is set at EasySocial -> Profiles -> Select Profile -> Access.

To set the album app as installed for all users, go to EasySocial -> Applications -> Album -> and set it as default.

I set the album app to be default as instructed above, but when I look at some profiles that were already created there the album does not show still. Will that only work for people who install from now on, or should it actually be showing and since it's not, something is wrong. For example if you look at this profile: http://seethemodel.com/community/profile/bschmiedt there is no album showing.

I set albums as default and just created a new user, but still the albums don't show up anywhere. I assumed they'd have displayed on the left under Installed Applications.

Hello Bob,

The album app actually displays user albums in their profile. Can you see if the albums are appearing on the profile screen? Your screen shot seems like you are on the dashboard view.

Hi Bob,
The other way around this is to attach Albums to a menu item called My Albums or something similar, this will show all the Albums of the logged in user, the only annoyance with this atm from my point of view is that it shows the profile pic as an album and also the Background pic as an Album, but I guess for those who change these a lot, it would become an album. I did not answer the other part of your question as it is answered in here elsewhere about the settings and restricting number of photo's to upload each day and total that can be uploaded.

Cheers
Jeff
