The Tag selector in the Composer sections is sorting Z-A, not A-Z

I was adding some more tags and noticed that the drop-down selector for Tags in the Composer is not selecting tags alphabetically.

There is no sort / ordering option for Tags on the admin backend and they are sorted alphabetically when you list them with the Tags tab on the toolbar, so that all works as expected.

When you are in the process of selecting tags, they also display in Z-A order in the selection bar, which is showing prior to saving the selected tags and the Post.

So I think this is a bug and wanted to report.

Can you please change this to normal alpha sort?

It would also be very cool if the DISPLAY of tags on a Post would also be in alpha order.
Currently they display in order of the ID number on the back end.

It would be nicest if:

- the sort order on the back end stays the way it is without any sorting, just sequential by ID as entered (no change needed)
- the sort order of tags on the front end is alpha in the pick list, the selector bar when the Post is being edited and on the Post when published. (these would need to be changed from current and display in the same manner)

We will see if we can do something about it. I will log this into our issue tracker.

Thanks for the response.

I should have been more clear about the "sorting Tags on the back end" comment. I meant "manually sorting" tags to force a sort order. You provide this for Post Types but not other post attributes. I understand I can temporarily sort the Tags by clicking on the Title column, but that has no impact on the display sort order on the front end.

I cannot easily think of a system that would display alpha fields such as these Post Tags in a reverse alphabetical order and believe you should fix this bug in the next release.

This is not a "feature" and I will not submit a request for this basic item that I am reporting.....

Hello,

I believe Irwin may have misunderstood the issue but I have created a ticket for this internally and this will be fixed in the next release of EasyDiscuss. The tags should appear in the same way as the picker would which is alphabetically
