I just updated to the last version and now I cannot log in from the front end. When I click the Login Form I get "Javascript:void(0);" (see https://kfirluzzatto.com/my-blog). I worked fine before I updated, so I assume this is an issue with the new version.

I tried to create a post in the back end, but when I tried to save it or preview it, it was not saved and simply disappeared. At this time I cannot create any new posts, so your quick attention would be appreciated.

Update:
The whole web site went down after I tried again to write a post, and trying to view it now gives the following notice: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' in /home4/kfir/public_html/kfirluzzatto.com/plugins/user/easyblogusers/easyblogusers.php on line 439

I'll need to try to restore it from backup.
Hey Kfir,

Can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this?

Hi Arlex,

That won't help, because I have restored the web site from an old backup and the problem is no longer there. I strongly suspect that the problem arose from the fact that I upgraded from inside the web site. I had a similar problem when upgrading last time, and then I saw the advice on StackIdeas' web site that we should not do the upgrade from our web site, but rather download and re-install. I should probably have done the same now (please comment!), but the program's advice to upgrade from within the program was too enticing.

hey Kfir,

I've tried in my locally upgrade from 3.9x to 5.0.29, it work fine without hitting these error you mentioned at above, perhaps you can provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you upgrade to 5.x and check on this issue quickly?

Hi Arlex,

The upgrade I did now was from 5.0.16 to 5.0.29. That is what caused the problem, but it's no longer there to see since I had to restore my web site that was down, from an older backup. The previous update was from 3.9.x to 5.0.16. At that time, after experiencing similar problems and restoring the website from backup, I upgraded according to this post: http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/administrators/upgrades/upgrade-easyblog-3-9-to-easyblog-5 and it worked without issues. Now I'm back to 3.9.x and I assume that the best way to upgrade to 5.0.29 is to follow the instructions in that post. I'll do that and see what happens.
