I just wanted to thank you for going the extra mile again and again and again.
I recently broke (AGAIN) the Vimeo hack that you guys set up for me.

It is still working and really helps me push my site forwards.

I can not think of any other support team on the planet that has this kind of patience and attention to detail.

You're welcome, do you mean now not working on your site?

Is it can elaborate more details regarding this how it work and which page having this issue?

Because that has been quite long time ago and i can't remember how it work now.

All is well. In short the problem was that Vimeo has a function that allows you to show videos only on a site of your choice. So I can post Vimeo videos in for eg an Easy Social Group and then try to monetise it with for eg Hika Shop or Pay Plans. Whilst the post only on my site from Vimeo technicaly worked there were two problems.

a) On the page where I posted. In my case a video page in an ES Group where the videos were displayed there was no thumbnail for the Vimeo videos as there was some hocus pocus going on getting them to only display on my site from Vimeo. There was a generic opppps this video can not be found thumbnail. See first screen shot for how this looks after your fix.*

b) Navigating to any single video posted in this manner resulted in a white frame. Same hocus pocus going on getting them to only display on my site from Vimeo. The video was there it was just you could not see it or use the navigation tools. See second screen shot for how this looks after your fix.

This was a make or break situation for me. If you had not helped me get this to work I just do not know what I would have done. It broke recently and I was thinking ohhh man I have to ask the guys at SI aka Arlex & Co to fix this for me again. And I fixed it myself by overwriting one the crawler.php file again. And it worked again. And I just wanted to say thank you again.

You edited two files:

JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/crawler/crawler.php

JoomlaFolder/components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/videos/default/item.php

And I uploaded a custom thumbnail with a specific name that is pretty much good for all videos on my site.

* In my case the the image was called and had the following path in line 15 of the item.php file:


if (empty($videoThumb)) {
$videoThumb = 'https://www.finalbug.net/images/LogosCO/Video-Thumb-Wildcard.jpg';


But obviously this could be easy altered on a site by site basis.

I have been at this for at least 5 years now and probably will not make any money off this for another year or two but with out you, Mark and the rest of the SI team I would have given up loooooooong ago. Credit where credit is due. You guys are the best.

Oh, if i understand correctly, after you replace those file then it worked fine again right?

If yes, i would advise you that do not replace the customisation file directly into the current latest file, because it might be cause another different issue.

I already help you updated your customisation code into the latest code, can you try download my attached file and replace into these following file location again?

JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/crawler/crawler.php

JoomlaFolder/components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/videos/default/item.php
