Yesterday I upgraded from easyblog 3.9 to 5 with no issues and wrote my first post. I really like the new system but had a few questions/problems after I posted.

1. When I type int a text block, there is a lag/delay and it is really slow. So much so that I had to type my text in a text editor and copy paste it back into easyblog so I could see what I was writing. It was awful and really slowed me down.

2. Image alt & title tags? In 3.9 I had added a system where I if I added a specific class style to an image, it would turn that image into a pinable image- put a pin graphic on it during hover and pull the image title as the description to be used in pinterest when clicked. I can't add class or even image alt/titles in easyblog 5. I could customize the page to add the image class but then how do we go about adding image alt & title tags to our images?

3. The built in Pin icon- when I click it, none of the images from my post show up, only the placeholder mountain image shows up and it pins to https://uk.pinterest.com not https://www.pinterest.com (I'm in the US). Why doesn't it pull the first image and how can I get it to drop the UK?

4. Same with when the post is auto-posted to facebook. The placeholder image is posted instead of the first image.
Hi Karen,

I am sorry for the late reply. Regarding your questions:

1. When I type int a text block, there is a lag/delay and it is really slow. So much so that I had to type my text in a text editor and copy paste it back into easyblog so I could see what I was writing. It was awful and really slowed me down.
I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. I have tried to replicate this on your site and it seems to be not so slow. However, we will improve this over some time.

I am really sorry about this. I believe currently image blog do not have this feature; to add class. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. We will improve this near future. By the way, here is my suggestion where you can use html block to add image. So there you can customize it as you can put the class and title to it.

3. The built in Pin icon- when I click it, none of the images from my post show up, only the placeholder mountain image shows up and it pins to https://uk.pinterest.com not https://www.pinterest.com (I'm in the US). Why doesn't it pull the first image and how can I get it to drop the UK?
We are still figuring this issue out and we'll update you back as soon as we can. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. Temporarily I have put some quick fix on your site here: /administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/easyblog.php line: 3064 and /administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/facebook/facebook.php line: 51

4. Same with when the post is auto-posted to facebook. The placeholder image is posted instead of the first image.
I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. I have helped you fix this issue and now when you autopost it to Facebook it should be picking up the first image when there is no cover image provided. Can you please give this a try and see if this fixes the issue.

Hope this helps and please give this a try.

When I update, will these fixes be over written?

My dashboard says Requires updating: Installed Version: 5.0.13, Latest Version: 5.0.14. I tried to update then when it was done it said Version 5.0.13 was successfully installed so it didn't update or the version # is wrong- I don't know but the fixes were gone. I put back the fix I found on the files you mentioned above but the Pinterest issue is still there, placeholder image & posting to uk.pinterest.com.

I haven't posted yet since now I'm held up on the update not working so I hope but don't know if the placeholder issue on Facebook is still an issue yet. When I hit the share button the correct image shows up.

Hi Karen,

I am sorry for the late reply,

I seems can't understand you well. Perhaps you can simplify the issue here so that we can understand you better. By the way, I believe this issue is already been addressed in the latest releases. Please let us know if this issue is still there after you have done update.

Looking forward to hear from you again.
Have a nice day.

Sorry. I'm trying to update. I've ran the updater a few times and after I get the success page, the dashboard still says:

Requires Updating
Installed Version: 5.0.13
Latest Version: 5.0.15

Hey Karen,

I am sorry for the misunderstandings here. There was a bug in EasyBlog prior to 5.0.14 where the update doesn't actually fetch you the latest version I have manually updated to 5.0.15 for you and it will be fine now (And future upgrades as well)

Thank you! For my #2 issue- I've tried using the html block as suggested to be able to add a class to an image but there is an issue when using more than one html block. I am creating a post currently with two html blocks. Every time the post auto-saves (or I save) the first html block is overwritten with the content of the second. I've been trying for hours to stop it but I can't save with out it happening.

In the screencast, it starts with it being wrong (double html block). I fix it, hit save for later, then it goes right back to first html block duplicating the second.

Edit: after saving the post and returning to it, the original html block is correct. So it's it appears to be an issue only w/in the editor appearance. Glad it's not permanent but on a new post it's doing it again and a pain to have to save, exit and return to get it to behave.

Hey Karen,

I can't seem to reproduce this issue on your site. I have created a new post and in that post there's 2 html blocks. When saving, they both appear correctly.
