I have tried altering settings in backend in Layout>Avatars to display text avatars but they seem to override personally uploaded avatars for all users.

I do have a default avatar image to display until users upload their own.

Is it possible to have text avatars only where the user has not uploaded their own?

Hopefully screenshots will show what I mean.

Thanks.
Hey Peter,

Ah unfortunately that would not be possible because currently you could either use text based avatars or normal avatars. Having said that, with EasySocial 2.1, we have added text based avatars, so you could just configure EasyDiscuss to inherit avatars from EasySocial

In EasySocial 2.1, text based avatars would only show up if the users did not upload a profile picture.

Sounds like another great thing to look forward to with ES 2.1

Thanks for the explanation.
