Hi guys,

We have noticed a lag for users when they try to tag someone they are left with a spinning wheel / loading icon when they begin to type a name and it takes quite a while sometimes.

Is there any way we can reduce the time it takes to display the names?

Thanks,
Katie
Hey Katie,

Can you watch my attached video and see is this the one you referring that spinning took some time to search the suggested name?

If yes, it seems like it did load pretty fast, can i know what name you trying to search?

Any name seems to take some time, try typing a full name, and try on desktop.

Some people are experiencing a lag. How do we stop the lag?

Thanks

Can you watch my video here and see which lag you referring? http://take.ms/TvJ7r

If you saw it, you can share with us which second until which second having this lag issue.

Actually how this name suggestion search work is, everything you type 1 character, it will send a request to the server to find any user name contain this name.

Our client is experiencing the lag.

Is there anyway we can cache the users from the server so if they do have a poor internet connection the users will show quicker without any lag?

Thanks

Hm, that is no way to cache it if your client connection slow to your server.

Actually Easysocial already got this Javascript cache functionality during ajax search, when the user search something like this keyword "abc" first time, no matter how it will send a request to your server to find the result.

At this moment when the search result come back to your site, the Javascript will cache this result.

So when the user try to search again this "abc" keyword, it will just load back the result from the cache, so it will not send a request to your server, this time will show the result quickly.
