Hi Support

Is it possible to switch out a video after uploading it?
i.e. the 4th video here:

http://finalbug.net/blog/entry/421-template-for-videos

Needs to replace the second video.
Then I need to delete the 4th video.

Please tell me that this is possible.

thanks

Paul
Hey Paul,

Yeah, we actually invented something really new and it's just a matter of time before you get used to it. When web developers initially introduced WYSIWYG editor after bbcode, people were also stumped by it. However, I never liked WYSIWYG editors because they are really NOT what you see is what you get. I often end up writing html codes when I compose blog posts on our site.

Unfortunately you can't just change the video. You need to delete the video block and insert the video block again

Hi Mark

Can you please tell me how this works?
As far as I can tell the video block that I need to replicate:
i.e. one of the three video blocks in the 3 video template is made up of at least four blocks.
Please see screen shots?

Please advise how do I build this?

Is it one block?
Or a series of blocks?
In a particular order?

thanks

Hey Paul,

To have 2 columns, you need to either use the "Columns" block or you can just drop any blocks inside an existing text block. Please view my video here, http://screencast.com/t/StJY7wlclS

Hi Mark

I really appreciate you taking the time to make that screencast. I almost had it.

eg I could get the width of the video right but only with a text (no heading)
eg I could get the heading but wrong width of the video!

But ended up giving up and using embedding Vimeo videos instead. More than adequate for the moment

I get it that it is incredibly powerful what you have built. It reminds me a little of Rapidweaver which I used many years ago.

I can get the pilling boxes on top of each other. But at the latest when it comes to getting different types of boxes to turn up parallel to each other with a particular width realtive to that above/below & left/right I get a little lost. Correct me if I am wrong but it is:

X & Y co-ordinates and then X & Y co-ordinates relative to other X & Y co-ordinates etc

Time for more coffee

What is absolutely mind boggling powerful is the idea of being able to build a template.

thanks

Hi Mark

You are preaching to the choir
I spend a lot of time in a parallel universe editing in a program called FCPX.
I believe it is better but it upset a lot of people in the beginning.

I have seen also how FCPX was maybe not really finished when it was released but wow 4 years later… Wow. It is very obvious that they had a master plan from day one. I watched a friend edit in what I would call an old fashioned editor (Premiere Pro) yesterday and it was kind of funny. 100s of menus, flashing lights and beeps but some how overkill for pretty much the same result.

I believe that common simple sense prevails in the end

keep up the great work
