Dear developers, I have some questions about easyblog

1) My antivirus scanner marks files like
/administrator/components/com_easyblog/controllers/blogs.php.backup
/administrator/components/com_easyblog/views/migrators/view.html.php.rej

as suspicious and unsafe

May I remove and cut off this ".backups" ".rejes" at all?

Another suspicious file:
/media/com_easyblog/node_modules/.bin

And suspected as javascript virus:
/media/foundry/2.1/scripts/redactor.js

2) What can you recommend against spambots? The component has appeared to be very attractive for spammers.
Hey tanya,

Yes, you can remove these file like ".backups" , ".rej" and .bin from your folder.

2) What can you recommend against spambots? The component has appeared to be very attractive for spammers.

What my recommended is using moderate your content when the user submit their new post in your site. You can set from your backend > Easyblog > ACL > select your user group > Compose tab > Allowed To Publish Post - NO
Hope this helps.

Thank you, Arlex! And what about "redactor.js" in
/media/foundry/2.1/scripts/redactor.js ?
Is it necessary to keep both
foundry/2.1/ and foundry/3.1/ in /media?

Hi Tanya,

I am sorry for the late reply.

You can remove the redactor.js in foundry/2.1 since EasyBlog doesn't use it anymore.

Have a nice day.

Does EasyBlog still use the folder 2.1 in /media/foundry/2.1/?. Maybe delete it at all?

Hey Tanya11,

Do you have Komento installed? Komento still uses version 2.1

Hello Mark,

Hey there,

Hm, do you have the redactorjs editor plugin installed? If you don't, it's not necessary

Sorry, but I don't see this function fully.

1)
select your user group
- my group (super user) or user group (public)?
2)
Allowed To Publish Post - NO
- I thought it means that me or another user cannot post anything at all (if "not allowed")
3) Where can I find the posts pending moderation? I saw such option about comments, not posts.

Hi Tanya,

Sorry, but I don't see this function fully.
1) select your user group
- my group (super user) or user group (public)?

If you want to disallowed public user from posting a blog post on your site you need to choose user group "public" from the ACL page. With this setup, only public user will not able to publish blog post on your site but other user group such as registered user group and super user group still able to post blog posts.

2) Allowed To Publish Post - NO
- I thought it means that me or another user cannot post anything at all (if "not allowed")

Just like my replied above, with this setup only public user will not able to publish blog post on your site but other user group such as registered user group and super user group still able to post blog posts. When they try to submit a blog post, their post will go straight to the post pending section at your backend > easyblog > posts > pending

3) Where can I find the posts pending moderation? I saw such option about comments, not posts.

You can find it from your backend > easyblog > posts > pending, http://screencast.com/t/1EMz9Yb1Z and moderate it from there.

Thank you. Now I understand. There was automatic registration in my blog because of broken (hacked) module "welcome". I've deleted the module and bad files.
